Annoying Flickering Box....

This has been happening to me for awhile but I could never get a screenshot until now. When I play on my laptop, I get this box on my lower left hand screen that blinks on and off. It seems to react to the position of my pirate at times. The screen is usually like the clouds you used to see if you glitched through one of the tavern walls. (best way to explain it) But when I downloaded the test server it got even worse! The size of the box doubled so now it covers the chat interface AND my weapon skills. It flashes on and off quickly. The flickering box on test is now like a mini reflection under the island i'm on. Does anyone know what's going on? Or how to fix it? It's been happening for awhile now. I'm on a Mac Book Pro and I'm directly hooked up to the internet (no wireless), in case that helps any.

Sounds like you have a bad graphic problem (obvioussly)

Check out the POTCO Graphic Options

What does it say you are running off of when you click the Graphics Option link in the launcher?

When I play it doesn't have a graphics option like that. It puts be right onto OpenGL though.

Use the Graphics Option before entering the game. It would be all messed up if you changed your graphics while in action, so it actually makes sense.

The Mac version of POTCO doesn't have the Graphics Options on the launcher as DirectX is Windows only. Try emptying out its cache folder as found in this thread.

To delete the contents of your Pirates Online cache folder, complete the following:

1. Go to the location where you installed Pirates. The default location is the Desktop
2. While holding down the Control key, click on the Icon
3. Select Show Package Contents
4. Click on Contents | MacOS | cache
5. Select All of the items inside the cache folder and choose Delete
