Anyone with Ventrilo experience-

I just got an inexpensive month of a Vent server for the guild, but I've never hosted a Vent before, so I'm not sure exactly where to go now.

The server's Status says "Pending Install" and honestly, I'm not sure if that is something I need to do or something the site I got it from does. (Noob, I know.)

So anyway, I have the client and I've purchased the server- if anyone wants to baby me through the steps to set this up, it would be very much appreciated.

I would ask for some assistance from the host you have purchased your server from. Most hosts do not require you to 'install' anything. Ive used ventrilo for years, and have had a couple different hosts, and I have never had to install it (other than the client on my own computer of course). Usually they have some form of webbased control panel that you can use to setup some of it, start/restart it, etc. If they dont, then you may have to read up on the manual pertaining to some of the "Remote console" commands you can use to configure/control some of it, but that is only after its up and running and you can connect. Once running and connected, you should be able to login as an admin and change alot of stuff directly through the interface.

Since the process for getting started however varies from host to host, you are best starting there (at the host).

Please remember that posting of Ventrilo information here on POF is against our forum policies, and word of warning, sharing the information in any disney game will likely get you banned from that game for a few days.

Thanks Zep. I just got confirmation from them that they are doing whatever they do- and I should be able to configure it when they are done. I knew not to mention anything about it in-game, but thanks for the heads up about not posting the info on POF. Don't think I'd want to make the info public anyway, but I'll be sure to keep it off the forums. Thanks again.

(Edit) I'm almost positive I've gotten it all sorted out. So... I guess I'll post if I encounter any issues.
