"Final" stress test, what does that mean? - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

I noticed the email for last weekend's stress test said "This Saturday, October 27, we'll hold our final official Stress Test for the second phase of Beta."

What do you think that means? Does it mean the game will be Open soon, or will there perhaps be a 3rd phase of beta, perhaps an 'open beta'? Speculate away!

That's interesting. I hope they're not going live, I wouldn't want to pay for the game just yet.

I'm hoping it's Beta 3. I wouldn't want to pay for it in the shape it's in.

Heck it better be beta 3, I have a character that I can't play due to bugged tasks - imagine the uproar if that stuff happens to paying customers.

So, IF its Beta 3, do you think they will be closing the game down for a few months as they did when they ended phase 2? I wasnt part of the phase 1 testing. Do they warn you in advance that they will be ending the phase (Besides the little email that said it was the last Saturday stress test)?

So, according to the e-mail I got today....

...Within the next 36 hours, Beta wil become the test server (Similar to Toontown Test) and the game will be going live...I'm assuming you get to be a tester if you pre-ordered, like I did.

Wow, i just checked my email about an hour ago and didnt have any email from POTC. Will have to check it again...

When ToonTown went live, it also had a medium amount of content. Then they added the HQ buildings and factories, the race track, etc.

I suspect it will be the same with POTCO. A lot of content will be added after release. OF course, that new content must be Tested (!) before it makes it to the public servers! <rubs hands in glee>

It seems it will be opening very soon. We Beta Testers can still play on the test server as long as we want for free.
We won't be able to get a few of the full game "bells and whistles", but we'll still have the Pirate experience. And it's been upgraded too. The test sewrver is open and ready but you have to download it to your desktop...again. The old one isn't supposed to work anymore. There should be a link in your email for the test server.
