Anyone got any ideas as to what I should do?

I cannot see any chats from anyone. This includes all guild chats, crew, local and whispers. The words come up as either 'arrr', 'yarr', 'garrr' or some variation like this. I have submitted a few bug reports and as usual Disney takes there sweet time getting back to you...

Actually - now you are seeing ALL the chats.

Your account sounds like its a Plus Chat Account - which before for people to actually talk to you they would need to put the + sign in the chat box - otherwise you never herd what they were saying...

Now - you actually get to hear what they are saying - but - any unapproved words are displayed as 'arr' or 'garr'. Before you just didn't get these enteries - at all.

Now since the upgrade if your Chat has reverted back to Plus Chat - you'll need to get Disney's help on fixing that.

I'm sure a few others here also may have an idea on the Chat Box itself

Actually Max, we were just in game, he's not seeing ANYTHING BUT arr. ( i tried saying "the sun is warm" and all he saw was arr arr arr arr) Chat worked on whisper and crew chat once we were friended though. He's checking live support now

Sounds like if Disney has a extremely strict parental control with PotCO (no open chat allowed), then he's somehow been placed in it.

Oh, well there's the problem - its Minus 6F outside! The chat is frozen cause it thinks the sun is not warm

Sounds good - it definitely is the other issue then of the Chat box bug which a few have experienced *shrug*

The isue is that he is in DW guild! EVERYONE knows that we get the most filtering, the most editing, the most reviewing, and the most banning*. Charles is just being "Protected" from the rest of us!

* (exceptions for Sarah and Piper.)

OI! i haven't been banned (....yet) although i DID cause someone else to be banned.....long story but i swear it wasn't really my fault!

I'm sure with enough violations, they'd reserve the right to do so.

Oh the young and naive!! YES, they suspend and Ban pirates from the game!

We tend to call a suspension, a "Disney Vacation". Usually there are 2 types; 24 hours and 72 hours.

I don't know personnaly of anyone who has beeen totally banned, but have heard rumors.

How do you get suspended, ye may ask? Good question!

The most common mistake made is giving out of personal info. Email addy's, web pages, name and age, (you get the picture) are all illegal things to put in chat.
(My first vaca was because I gave out my YIM name.)

Other things that can earn you a quick trip outside of Disneyland include, but are not limited to, cussing, and other non "G" rated chat. Remember, this is a "Kid's" game. I know of at least two others who got "Reported" for bad behavior, being rude to other players, and they got Vaca's, too.

Disney does monitor chat! Not just edit things out. Theri chat search filters look for things like city names, certain phrases, words, etc. You may type something that goes thru, and 2 or 3 days later find out that they have reviewed the chat and are gonna suspend you.

Yes they do ban you, not just the three day suspension, but permanent ban accounts. Now unlike the initial post here, this is not something they take their sweet time on. Even go to the point of going back months searching your files if you win a appeal, for something else. Maybe that was only because it was the GM, cutting off the guild from there.

In other words they get on your case, they can , and have really gone after people. So all those times you state the guild site, or vent, later it can burn you when they get you for a recent event.
