February 2009 Superstition Contest
 Don't walk under a ladder  Break a mirror and it's seven years of bad luck  Friday the 13th is an unlucky day and we are doomed to have 3 of them in 2009 - February, March, and November. In order to ensure that we don't get caught in a lot of bad luck this year   it is time that we listed all the dangers that surround us in the Caribbean. Post a superstition here specific to the Pirates Online game such as: Never go shirtless when fighting the undead. They may steal your skin! The mods will peruse them and the top 3 selected by the mod staff will receive the winner award  AND first place will get a PM subscription second and third will receive a Signature subscription All entries will receive the participation award  You have until Friday February 27th to post your created superstition, but only post one or the evil gypsy will arise from the swamps and put you upon her personal gibbet

Never rename a boat--all ships are registered in Davy Jones' ledger. If ye rename a boat, ye'll just go and make him angry, and then the Kraken of the Caribbean will be comin' fer ye!
Of course, that MUST be the reason ye can't rename yer ships in POTCO, right? AND why we don't see the Kraken too, right?

Never jump into the water to access a dinghy for ship boarding....these waters be shark infested and full of other dreadful creatures! Legend has it, the Kraken lurks in the cold and murky depths of the uncharted waters. You may lose more than just a leg mate. Dead Men Tell No Tales........

When ye find yerself in jail, sweet jail, ye must must be turnin' 3 circles to yer portside afore ye kick down the door to yer cell. This ensures that ye be leaving yer bad luck behind fer the cursed Navy swine what jailed ye.

never sink 5 skeleton ships in a row...legend has it the kraken will awake.
never completely empty the rum hideaway on rum runners or you will be visited by davy jones crew who will squeeze every last drop of rum out of you. if you rub scary mary's belly your plunders will double jump on the top of a shack and you'll break tia dalma's back never ever go afk on a tuesday night or you will find yourself underwater. Never jump and swing a cutlass, stun built up in a non grounded steel rod will energize the atmosphere to strike you with lightning.
If this should ever occur stop all you are doing, take two steps back, spit, don't move and draw all other weapons to de energize yourself. Never, and I mean NEVER attune a pig while jumping up and down while screaming ' ARG I'M A SCURVY PIRATE! '. in will cause tortuga to eat the kraken causing port royal to turn to ice and melt which means..... gunner will ask for more rum to spare.....
to prevent this, take two steps back, turn starboardwise 7 times walk up to a gravedigger and spit on its face. Never drink rum when apliying Tia dalma wrinkle cream, or ye will be drunk for life! if this should happen, take four steps back, spit, get slapped by scarlet, and do a zombie dance. when you see the flying pigs that yell, ' COME BUY CHICKEN WINGS AT BARRBOSSAS BURGER SHACK!
