All Things Good About Disney!

I've seen some very ranty threads lately. So I decieded to make this one!
Lets name some stuff that Disney did that we really liked/appreciated
Lets see im very glad that they are going to add the inventory system..
and lets see what you guys have to say!

Disney has made a beautiful game, filled with action, adventure, and lots of friends and fun!
I like how they keep trying their best to try and make us happy.

What's not to love about POTCO. Yes, it may need a few updates, but hey, don't be online all the time and problem solved. But like Ben said.. Its the friends you make that make it worthwhile

Let's see...
POTCO has been my escape from RL for over a year, I've met a lot of more than AWESOME people here thanks to it. I just love the spirit of competition that you can find NO WHERE else in a game. The adventure not found with quests or leveling up with friends has made itself very worthwhile. Did I mention the great people here?

Thanks to Disney for making this great game. I have quit two other great online games (Rakion and WolfTeam from Softnyx Co.) just because of POTCO. I Hope they continue working hard on keeping this a great game!! and ofcourse, the friendly and awesome people I have met in and off the game, especially here, POF. Thank you all.

Hmmm, This post seems to have been placed to directly oppose the one about how Disney has let us down. That's good! It's a place to say exactly what is GREAT about the game!

There are 10 posts in front of this one, and, without exception, the primary thing mentioned is that everyone is so glad for the great friends and fantastic people that they have met. (Personally, I don't see how Disney gets the credit that people were raised properly and have great personalities, but hey....) I to have made some great friends, and even consider my guildmates to be extended family members. We care about each other, and worry if someone is missing for any period of time. (OK, so if the game didn't exist, I probably would never have met them. For that, I thank Disney.)
But only one post contains anything SPECIFIC about "All things good about DISNEY" and it is about something that is coming up, not out now.

Here's what's GREAT about POTCO:
It is an MMOG that is:
A) Very easy to use, the controls are simple to learn and it does not require an inordinate amount of multi-keystrokes to accomplish.
B) Fairly inexpensive, and has no start up fees.
C) FUN!!!
D) Very interactive, encouraging group play but allowing solo play at the same time.
E) Based on a theme that encourages people of like mind to be involved. If a person doesn't like Pirates, they probably aren't going to be here.
F) Has content that is entertaining for players of all ages.
G) Allows people to progress at their own pace, and in their own fashion.
H) There is no RIGHT or WRONG way to play the game. One person may favor sailing and sea battles, another may lean toward Questing.
I) Provides hours and hours of variation. (Escapism, to borrow from Savvy's post.)
J) Doesn't require players to go out and buy "ADD-ONS"


I can probably list a few more things, but I'll leave that for others.

You see, I don't HATE the game, I hate the fact that so many of our friends are leaving the game. And I'll leave the rest of want I want to say for in the other thread.

To me, the very best thing Disney has done here is to create a game that is accessible to just about everyone. Young or old, male or female. To do that obviously means making some compromises, but Disney has done it and done it well.

The game looks good and doesn't require a Cray Supercomputer to play it and, as someone else mentioned, the interface is simple but very effective.

Agreed, POTCO is the place I can go to to get away from my problems. Even though i'm really active on the weekends. POTCO helps me from getting bored

Disney could make a couple movies like pirates with major special effects in about a year.
OK just joking.

I feel about like what Basil posted. Some of us have stuck it out, because we like things we have seen in the game. Part of this development is participation with others in such things from a ship run for gold, to a Boss Battle and your crew just squeaking through with a success.

Other times it is laughing at your guild mate that just finally got a rare clothing drop, but that pink shirt just doesn't seem to fit his macho attempt at a pirate.

Other times it is helping someone just get through something they have attempted sometimes many times, and the gratitude they feel.

Its the amazement perhaps when you show someone a better way when frustrated with skill leveling, to just a flying glitch.

Many of us play with many different styles, if its from leveling fast to socializing, and that freedom to what interests you.

All of us like to think of our guilds as the greatest. A aspect I find fun in competitiveness. This would be where I would perhaps fall under the most. If someone smokes ya with cutlass with some trick, I will sit for days figuring out to counter it, and let others know in the guild.


Solo play many times figures out tricks and better methods of game play, to me a plus.

I like learning what something actually does and its benefits. This would be open fire in svs for example, before a time meter was on it.

Many times as I think already posted, it is a escape or stress release. If it was from getting yelled at by a boss today, to being yelled at by a parent, head into two enemy ships and let em have it.

There are different aspects to fit different interests. Sailing, melee battle, clothes, jewelry, tattoos, quests, and to a extent challenging challenges.


I think everyone who has negative to positive issues likes the game/Disney, but doesn't mean there are not frustrations over things. I as well agree with what Basil said to the ending of his post. I do not want the biggest percentage of what I feel a plus to end.

To keep this plus some still have in friends and guilds, It should be voiced.

Great point it has made an escape from real life and i had somewhere to go when VMK closed.
