Cannot repair glitch in privateering...workaround - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

For those who have encountered the problem where they cannot repair the ship in privateering here is the reason as well as the Work around.

Why does it happen? When Disney in it's infinite wisdom corrected the Repair glitch which people where using to fix ship while still on the move they created this nasty side affect.

Work around.... if you are crew and cannot repair simply TP to captain or another crew member until you get a green circle over a repair spot. only takes seconds no big deal.

For captain it is completely different. Follow this advice and you will never ever have an issue again.

When the Captain first boards ship in privateering make crew stay off ship.... simply walk over a repair spot and if you see a GREEN RING ok give crew an all clear signal to board. If you do not see a GREEN RING grab helm and port the ship and try again.

2 times usually does it 1 in 20 takes 3 but rest assured if you do see a green circle everything is ok....

Follow this to the hilt write it down and you will never ever have an issue.

Not a problem spread the word as I actually sunk a few times in privateering while

trying to teach people the work around so I rarely explain it in the game while

privateering any more.

TYPING whilst privateering causes more sinking then anything else..

Yes that happened to me last night while privateering. I couldnt repair so my captain/guildmaster had to do it. It happened when we got sunk and instead of me reappearing back on board I showed up in what everyone calls "Wonderland". I looked to see if my guildmaster was there but it showed him still sailing. I had to tp to him in order to get out of there but thats when I found out I could no longer help repair so I became the lookout and he did tell me to swab the decks and oil the guns, LOL! And this isnt the first time something glitchy has happened to me (they do call me the Glitch Queen, LOL). Once we sank and I came back sideways and up in the air. We ported but alas still the same so I had to log off and come back on in order to get rid of that one. Kani of Spartan Elite

If you are crew simply TP to the captain or someone else to repair. If first you don't succeed try try again. Sometimes 3-4 times is what it takes.

For captains once the ship is launched you have to port the ship and relaunch to get the ability back. TP is useless for captain.

good advice arioch.. you can also tp to other crewmembers and get your repair ability back.

Yes but this workaround is mainly for the captain who cannot TP to people and once on board is sorta up the creek with out a paddle if he is solo and cannot repair.
