Something Wicked This Way Comes..

A few weeks ago, the guild met a mysterious lad by the name of Lawrence Prince. Not much was known about him - only that he was new to the Caribbean. Yet he clearly had the keen ability of handling a ship, hence his self-naming as a Captain. How could it be that such a fresh face in the Caribbean would have such strong sea legs - and such a stronger hatred against his foes?

In October of 2009, the members of Partners N Crime were sent for one wild ride - an event that in itself was one-of-a-kind: new, unique, challenging, and inevitably rewarding; everything a pirate craves. Soon, this extremely successful event will rear its head once more, looking to bring about the hidden strength and will in all pirates.

This coming July, the members of Partners N Crime will get the chance to meet this pirate, and his mysterious past. How was Prince introduced to the guild? How was he led - or forced to, the Caribbean? What is his purpose here? And probably the question on everybody's mind - what in the hell is his name for? All of this and more will be answered, in Partners N Crime's Guild Quest: Chapter II.

Coming July 2010 to a guild near you

As July comes closer, I felt as though I should give you all a little explaination of what you can expect from this event. Here's a little Q&A I compiled, to give you guys a little light on this subject.

What exactly is the "Guild Quest?"

The Guild Quest is... well, a quest! The event follows a storyline, this particular one revolving around Captain Lawrence Prince, and involves pirates completing a long series of tasks in order to progress in the story.

How are these tasks handed out and completed? And what will they include?

The tasks are handed out by the characters in the story, instead of being given dry out by myself. A character in the story will give you task either verbally in-game, or through a little story explaination through a post on the official event thread (to be posted when the event begins in July.) When the task is given out, proof will be needed t prove that you complete it. On most occassions, Prince will accompany you - in other cases, you may need to present a screenshot of completing the task.

The tasks in the quest aren't like those in regular quests. The quest engulfs, basically, every aspect of the game. One task may require you to kill 50 Thrall Captains only using a Flintlock Pistol with Lead. Then, the next one may require you to use an invisibility potion to sneak in to Fort Dundee, or have you reach a certain wave in Cannon Defense. Really, in order to complete the quest, you need to be able to complete tasks that you would never experience anywhere else. Thats what makes this quest so fun.

Will we be forced to work alone, or in groups?

Neither. The Guild Quest is named so for a reason. First off, I'm making the quest impossible to do individually, so you can scratch that. Secondly, every member of the guild is involved. The quest will evolve as a whole for every pirate in the guild. So, you all will be working together to complete it.

How long will this quest be, and for how long will it run?

Like last time, the quest will last for as long as it takes to complete it. In the last quest, it took our pirate a month and 1 week to complete 39 tasks. However, this time around, because we have so many more possibilites with this quest, I can estimate to you now: this time's quest will contain AT LEAST 60 tasks.

When will the quest begin?

The thread will be posted on July 6th, and on July 9th, the Guild Quest: Chapter II, will officially begin.

Oh, darn. I'll be out of town from the 2nd (or so) 'til around the 22nd. Save some rum, and some quests, for me!
