The Dagger Quest - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

I am on the step of the dagger quest called Recover Message. The description says to "Recover a message to Governor Swann from a powerful Navy ship".
I have tried sinking all types of navy ships and simply can't seem to get this message to drop. Is anyone else having a problem with this quest?

Perhaps you need to defeat a level 10+ ship, since it says powerful.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I've tried that over and over still with no luck. I was going to drop the quest and pick it up again but the drop button is greyed out on this quest.

We're all in the same boat, so to speak. My guess is that this isn't complete yet since i have sunk well over 100 navy ships and no luck.

Aye, and the Sargent part. I've killed many of them and no tongs.

I did manage to get the tongs to drop but it took quite a few kills to get it. Maybe the message just has a really low drop rate. I'll keep trying I guess. Thanks for the replies.

They maybe playing around with settings on certain tasks, as with tongs, one pirate got them after first sargeant, but my other still hasnt got them and defeated 8 sargeants so far.

Niether of them can get any silver from the EITC ships tho, must of sunk over 10 on each and still not even one.

Still if the sister game TT is anything to go by, it can take a while to find things, there were tasks on there that took a lot of tries to get what u wanted and it varied a lot.

Biggest problem i find, it being beta, when u've defeated quite a lot and still not got something, u sit there wondering, is it a bug, am i wasting my time. Can only keep going i spose and hope they fall into place eventually.

I havent seen many daggers flying about however, but there are some high level pirates about, this could mean dagger task is not completable at this time of course.

I got one sliver bar from a ship. I don't know why or how, guess it was random. I'm hoping for a patch later today.

just keep at it, that stage of this quest (list of items for dagger) is finishable, the next is still questionable as to if it does drop.
