What your talking about now is a professional level solution, and may be quite a bit more than your looking for. Looks to me like it costs $180 Unless you plan on running a huge fan board like this which is no easy venture, I would stick to the free or lesser expensive solutions.

I was thinking of starting a forum myself...but when I saw the price I was like...*OMG Gasp Breath In, Breath Out Do You Know CPR?* Yea, it was crazy.

Yeah, it costs quite a bit to run fairly large forums. Time you pay for vB for the software, domain name, server, any extra plugins for vB, back up service, and some other odds and ends...it adds up fast. The main reasons why we charge for certain extras to get some donations coming in to help pay for all the expenses.

There are some free forum sites and I would suggest getting started on those to see if you get enough interests for your site.

plus after you pay for everything theres still a chance your site wont be succesful and then you've wasted a ton of money

Yea i would start out with a free forum until u hit around 500 members then consider vBulliten bc from what i know vBulliten isnt easy if you dont know much about computers or codes or stuff like that not to mention if you pay around $500 and you have no clue what you are doing well that just isnt good.

I remember the good old days when I was in middle school .. I ran a wrestling site through angelfire and I was so happy when I hit like 1,000 or 5,000 visits. Don't remember which one.
