Invincibility in Ship PvP

When we enter Privateering Mode our ship is invincible.
I believe before the update the duration is 30 second but
now it is raised to 180 second or 3 minutes.
But if we take helm the ship won't be invincible anymore
(about 5 second after we steer the ship)
Maybe to prevent big ship or large group of ships
to camp near the enemy's base island.

That would be cool. I've been on both sides of that camping thing, and its no fun either way. Even when our team was the one doing the camping, and "winning", it was kinda boring...no challenge.

I'm not there just for the quest points...I want a real battle!

Im guess yuo could call me a chicken because when I was doing a privateer battle I saw a light Galleon camped beside one of those huge rocks.I thought it was an easy target.When I came reall close to it,a War Galleon popped up from behind the big rock.Then I turned straight around and sailed for my life.That's what I call an Ambush!

maybe move the distance that out that an enemy boat can be from the spawning island. but doing that wouldn't prevent boats from shooting lighting from a distance but would give you a bit more of a chance getting out of port.

Or the other thought would be to randomly respawn somewhere in the SvS arena. But over time we would figure out the spawning spots and camp there. lol

soooo...not sure how to fix this part of the game.

the other thing i noticed is that once the arena was essentially "cleared out" of enemy ships, due to camping, no other enemy boats came out to play.

In first person shooters, it was etiquette that stopped people from camping.

Its a wimpy tactic and shows no real strength or strategic wisdom at all.

If a ship sits still for more than 2 mins (without battling) and within a certain parameter of where enemy ships spawn, it should autosink and be done with its bounty for using cheap wimpy tactics.

There are lots of ways to solve it. It should start by educating and improving the etiquette/morals of those playing.

Umm, if they camp just sink them. Sorry but no rocket science here. Lets see, three war frigates sitting right on top of spawn on Island. Now three sitting at the bottom of the sea, and shield is still up?
All of a sudden quite a bit of room at the spawn in area, hmm.

I see no problems really in this area, but I understand it from a lower level perspective.

As for etiquette, just not seeing it. Haven't seen it while others jumped critters, didn't see it when others raced up to the boat you just shot sails off of. Am seeing it, when the small sloop comes in, and everything turns away?

My view is, if some are so glory seeking to try to camp on the spawn spot, fare game to learn them, to stay back or you will get several rounds of Fury and sink. Then might move the ship.

OK some hints there. Last thing I would say, is practice your canon, a few holes in the sails does little.

Ships sink too fast for strategy: raw firepower can do in ships quickly. My two-point thunder of my test pirate stung readily enough (two points is the limit for each of his skills).

i believe there is a fix for spawn camping. the spawning ships are invincible and can damage the camping ships if both just sit there. i dont like that idea but i think that it is for that very reason maybe?
