whil your sailing it is possible to go past the edge of the world. how? oh sail a sloop to edge of the world turn it broadside next to edge then walk off the edge of the boat past the edge of the world.

Yeah the boat dont show on the map anymore but if you continue to sail past that you get the "End of the world turn around" message.
