Question Question regarding performance and Anti-Aliasing

I've read several issues regarding this game, and been experiencing them first hand in game.

The laggy state of this otherwise fine game is very discouraging to say the least.

The first question I have is relating to the memory leak issue. Has Disney even acknowledged this issue somewhere? Are they working to fix this? After some time playing, the game becomes a slide show, and unplayable. A reboot fixes the problem...for a short period...then after a while, again...it's the same problem.

Rebooting the game every 30 minites to an hour should not be considered a fix, and while I have read this suggestion several times here, I have not read anything regarding an actual fix from Disney. Is any real fix on the horizon?

Regarding this memory issue, I read a few posts where people suggested setting some memory controller to "default", as opposed to "agressive". None of those posts explained exactly how do do that, much less find where I can look to see what mine is set at. I think this is little more than a band-aid solution to the problem, however I'd like to see what mine is set at.

Any help on where to find this setting within Vista would be greatly appreciated.

My next question relates to Anti Aliasing.

My NVidia control panel shows that it should be enabled, however when I jump into POTCO, there is absolutely no AA. I have a system and a graphic card that is more than capable of running this game. The base graphics aren't the greatest, so AA would help pretty things up a bit.

Anyone have the same problem enabling AA? If not...would anyone have any tips for me to get this working in this game?

Thank you in advance.

Red face

Blond pirate moment I suppose...I just found the "memory Conservation" thing that was suggested.....

lol...here I was looking all over Vista, unable to find that option anywhere!

So today, I decide to try and figure out why I can't get any AA working, I find the memory thing in the Game Options. /blush

Mine is set to default, doesn't seem to help.

Anyone know how to get the AA going? I'm using a 8800GT OC w/Vista.

Thanks again.

If you have the nVidia Contol Panel icon in your system tray (by the clock):

Right click on it
Select Performance and Quality settings
Change it off of "Application Controlled" to whatever your system will handle.

Thanks for trying to help, unfortunately, nothing is currently "Application Controlled"

I tried switching everything back and forth, many reboots...one option at a time...still no AA.

But thx anyways. Seems like precious few around here even know what AA is.

Heh. Unfortunately there's really no advanced settings in POTCO to do what you want (AFAIK).

So, if forcing the drivers to force AA isn't working, likely it's not going to.

FWIW, I usually play at high enough resolutions (1920x1200/1680x1050) that AA isn't horrendously missed.
