Would anyone want Weather?

This would make the game more realistic, and the way I thought of this came from the tropical storm in the Caribbean.

I could suggest a few basic weather.

We have:
Sun
Clouds
Suggest:
Storms, rain, tropical storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, water spouts, hail, Sever weather, isolated weather, and showers.

This would make fighting in the seas exciting and when ever weather comes, it would slow ships down by one knot.

Great! You should go give the idea to Disney like the millions of others that have come before you!

In my opinion, they have more pressing matters than weather, though.

Ok so I'm not the first one, but maybe. Still this would be great. And lightning. It would slow ships down and twisters at night. The night would be so dark that you would only hear the whirl winds.

I should just save my reply to this and save time for the future posts of weather:

Unless they seriously upgrade their servers, the game will NEVER be able to handle the strain of weather. Simple rain will cause lag (or at least slow down) on the most empty of servers. Weather is one of the most resource consuming features on all mmos.

If they add weather or not, they need to upgrade their servers, perhaps with built in processing power? That will solve all the Lag problems.

I like the idea! We need something to challenge the way we sail and change the conditions. From Joshua's reply, I think it would make it easier for Disney to make the rain a giant transparent picture over lay that covers the entire game but not the HUD. For example, one picture is made of rain and one or two other rain pictures are made differently and switch between the three making the effect its raining (Like the Skull flames of the icon over the Game Master's name switched between three pictures.)

Yes they need to upgrade the servers. Also having Fog. Remember the fog they had at ravens. It should have simple fog rain and storms. I just replied in one thread that was talking about lag and stuff. And the fire should grow if it isn't repaired at a certain time.

I know this has been brought up previously.....and I love the idea. In fact, I probably suggested it a few years ago....lol. Yes.....I think rain, storms...etc. would make the game more realistic. However, first they need to tighten the code and get rid of the current lag/glitches as adding weather would only make it worse.

Believe it or not, I actually told Disney this idea a while back. When they're phone line was still available, I told them this idea about weather (though not the same as yours :P.) Seriously, people, we need weather. This is NOT all about sunshine doing the day and moonlight during the night. Make it more real!!!! (And yes, the servers DO need to be updated badly.)

When I had my graphics set on high, I saw a lot of fog. I was like-wow-when did this happen? I no longer have them set on high so I don't see the fog now. But, ships skipping & defeated enemies taking 5 seconds to realize they are defeated (lag) must be addressed first as stated. In SVS, today, I had trouble changing ammo due to lag & got d/c'ed trying to shift to repair. Myself, I would rather have the game, as is, running smoothly first. Then, the Mouse can turn it's attention to items such as weather. And, yes, I did send in a report.

How about having fog set to all graphics. But the fog needs to be a little more heavier. Like Mist. Maybe add some few bugs flying. Little critters. Not bugs like ships being 5 sec. slow.

Also i sunk the QAR and it still attacked us. And it sunk us when ever it was supposed to be boarded.

Well, they tried to make some weather.
The lightning on top of the Jolly Roger ships is a complete fail.
The fog during invasion is ok, actually.

I don't think we should have changing weather, they would put too much strain on computers (even large games haven't achieved ever changing weather patterns as far as I know). New islands with different, but static weather patterns would be a great leap for POTCO. Like some islands always get rain, others get tornadoes, etc.
