Lower Level enemies hit ability
Is anyone else disappointed in the fact that lower level enemies can now hit the higher-level pirates?
Personally, I believe that this was a type of right of passage. I was able to assist many other new players with this particular advantage. I was not worried about receiving no notoriety points for these defeats because I was assisting other pirates. I feel that his is a right of passage for higher-level players. There is great difficulty in securing a quest item that this particular ability assisted with the completion of an already difficult task in many areas. ![]() Tempestt40 aka Kate Mcflint |

I agree. You earn the right not to have to deal with all those "little guys", because you can't get any rep from them anyway.

I DO like the fact that any and all levels should be able to attack you and hurt you (even if the damage is weaker).
This makes much more sense. For the same reason that you could have attacked (and possibly defeated) a higher level opponent at any time during the game. BUT.... anything that can damage you should be considered worthy of defeating., and you should receive points for the defeat. Obviously as you get higher in level the point scale needs to adjust to reflect your level. But an enemy that was worth 2 points should still be worth 2 points regardless of your ability or skill level. You paid with time and effort to increase your ability, you still deserve to earn the notoriety or rep. When you are level 32 you will be able to defeat higher level enemies and earn much higher points...it should be up to you if you want to waste your time defeating low level enemies that will only earn you 1 or 2 points each. |

~~~~~ Release Notes - December 19, 2007 Lower level players are now able to damage higher level enemies. Previously, they would always miss. ~~~~~ I do agree that if you don't get any Notoriety from an enemy because their level is so low, they shouldn't be able to hit you. |
I was in Fort Dundee on PDR when I first logged on today, intending on going after LVL23+ Officers. (I'm LVL26, so they can still be a bit of a challenge.) But I found I had to worry about the Sergeants and lowest level Veterans, too, because the damage that they could inflict might mean the difference between success and jail. I am all for them making the game more challenging, but I agree with those who feel that they have taken away a "right" that we have earned. |
I freaking HATE IT. I agree with what a lot of you have said about a) the whole "right of passage"/we've already had to go through all that with them thingy, b) the fact that we get no notoriety AT ALL for defeating these twits, and - most importantly - c) being attacked while trying to help out newer/lower level players. I'm just... UUURRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HHHAAAAATTTTEEEE!!!
