How does looting really work?
I started leveling cutlass at Tormenta and only got rare swords along with a famed and cursed blade in a hour and half. But I got no rare pistols or dolls anything.
I started leveling pistol at Tormenta with a blunderbuss and I got 3 Rare Pistols in a hour and half but not even one rare cutlass/other weapon. I started leveling staff from level 2-7 at kingshead for like 15 minutes and I got 2 staff loots. It seems as if I use a pistol to kill enemies, I get the best chance to get pistol loots, if I use staff, I get the best chance for staff loots, does looting work this way? Is it based on what weapon you use? |

The only weapon I kill Darkhart and these sea monsters in tormenta is blunderbuss and postol. Never tried sword. But I still get lots of famed swods. In fact, I have more famed sword then guns... |

yeah. The last time I ran into Tormenta cave, my first kill was a lower level enemy. I killed him with my pistol and ended up getting a rare cursed blade (Viper Blade). I have no idea how it works...

From what I understand, and after so many people posting very different hypothesis on how it works I can safely say that it works on random luck. Nobody has been able to prove their hypothesis successfully it's nothing more than luck.

1. Take out a weapon 2. Kill an enemy 3. If you receive a loot item, open it up. 4. Take loot It will always work! |

Yeah, what TSC said, after trying out many different theories (of my own, and theories of others) I also am pretty sure it's all luck.

It's either totally random, or it's about cycling through the loot. I got the general idea from the Pirates Online Wiki. Basically, if you choose a server and you're, for example, getting a skull chest every ten Darkhart kills, try switching server. A theory for getting loot is that other players may have cycled through the loot stages in each server, then left and you can harvest their loot. It's possible. Might as well try.

Hmm? I haven't gotten a famed for...... Almost since the weapons came out. After the staff made it famed and legendary's more hard to find i haven't gotten anything....
Is that just random unluck? o.O |

There are many theories on this, I took a look at "The3rdjoker" on Pirates Wiki, he has found over 140 famed and 7 legendary weapon with pictures as proof, all of his famed and legendaries were from loot skull chests. He mentioned that "All the servers are on different cycles depending on the amount of players on each server, some will produce more relics than other servers because they have been cycled through faster when more players play on those servers. When other servers are Idle a lot due to not much game play on those, there will be less chance to find a relic on those."
Then again, everyone said that you CAN'T get a legendary from loot chests, and Blackbeard got his World Eater Blade from a loot chest. My theory is that you can get legendaries, famed, rare, no matter what (expect the cursed blades which can only be found on Raven's Cove or Isla Tormenta loot) in any loot type (pouches, chests, loot skull chests). I believe that you jut have a much lower chance to receive a famed or legendary from a Loot Pouch or Loot Chest, Loot Skull chests just give you the best chance to receive one of these famed, legendary weapons. I got a few rare cursed blades from Loot Pouches earlier while killing ghosts at El Patron's mine. But yeah, It is all just random luck, I guess. |

Yes, that's where I got the general idea of my last post.
