Well, I don't think they go lower than 17. (thought I saw a 17 or 18 around) Okay. - Find a crew. Might be easier that way. - Whatever you do, don't go near the sides. They'll kill you with thunderstorm attacks in a minute. Just lurk behind it, and keep hitting it with one broadside, if that makes sense. - And make sure there aren't any other enemy ships around. You don't want to be distracted by a sneak attack. Of course, that's just my strategy. You might just want to load up on offense and get a big crew to keep shooting it. ...Hope you don't have a sloop. |

You can take out a skelly ship on even the smallest of ships. 2 of us managed it in a baby sloop LOL took forever but if u stay under its rear u can broadside it till it sinks and for 100 reps too!!! Other than that is to do it on your own and stop yout ship when it heads for you (side on) broadside it then about turn to the other side. the skelly ship will stay on a straight course for you. broadside again then round you go again to the other side. Keep repeating till its sunk. If you get the timing right its easy peasy lol. If not you'd better run and then come back to try again. but it can be done alone or with friends.

This task frustrated me too. The first ship killed me with lightning balls on the first shot. The second time I found someone already battling a skelly and got one shot in before they sank it. Just dumb luck!

I managed to sink one by picking a quiet district and hitting one close to Tortuga. Darn near sunk it before it got me.
After I got out of jail, I fixed my ship and went out right away. The same ship was still there, and its damage hadn't regenerated, so one good broadside finished it off!

If you go behind tortuga, theres 3 phantoms. One of them is a lvl 17 and thats the easiest skeleton ship ive seen.

skull duggerybones is right- you can sink one on your own without a crew. I've done it. You just get in behind them, turn your boat and fire, then turn the other way and fire. The trick is opening and closing your sails to stay behind them. if you get out to their sides, you're done for.
