Future improvements - Hint lies in World of Warcraft?

Well, I was bored and scroling some info about the POTCO developers.. I noticed almost all of them's answer to the question "whats your favourite MMOG?" was Worlf of Warcraft.
I have played it a while ago, before new weapons and stuff came out and noticed they already had a loot system, and fishing, not long later, we had that on POTCO.
Not exactly saying that disney exactly copied off everything from World of warcraft (interesting the abbrevation for world of warcraft is WoW.. lol), but I think if anyone who also plays it, it would provide clues to what D is working on..

Yep, since beta 1 in early 2007 it's been posted on the site that they play WOW. They get some of their ideas from WOW, and other games, probably because they're too unoriginal themselves.

I can think of five major updates that players would love, but the developers won't add in cool content like WOW has. Why? Who knows, but in a decade the game will be good.

Toontown is eight years old, and it's a pretty good MMO right now. In two years it will be at the ten years mark, and boy, there's a lot of content.

Either ten years.... or if suddenly Disney realizes this game's potential as a marketing tool for the 4th movie and promotes it LIKE ANYTHING next year... The latter is something I hope they'll do.

A loot system is not exactly a copyrighted idea. After all, in any game where your character can acquire things - would a loot system NOT be part of it?

And keep in mind this game WAS a marketing tool to begin with. I still feel it's major issues fall back on the fact it was likely NOT designed to be very complicated or modular for easy changes.

After three years, they never even finished the original concepts - so I would not be overly optimistic about huge future developments - lest they do a COMPLETE overhaul. They wrote themselves into a corner with the story's timeline.

I DO love this game, but I am fearful that Disney puts more time and money into their other online products annnnnd unlike the others, they don't own all the rights to it (Bruckheimer has a chunk). So, what motivation do they have?

Let's hope that PotC4 will put a fire under them to make major updates to get new players and lure back the old salts who left.
