POTC 4 spoiler alert
the movie is about Jack , Barbossa , Black beard try to find the fountain of youth. Will and Elizabeth are not coming back because they are insignificant to the plot.
Black beard is introduced because Barbossa wasn't thought to be mean enough so black Beard is gonna be really mean |

My official pre-review of the move: It will stink. Will Turner is by far my favorite character, and when I found out he wasn't coming back, obviously I was horribly disappointed. And Blackbeard? Really? This is pirates of the Caribbean with Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, Jack the Monkey, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann (Turner now), NOT Blackbeard. Seriously? The fountain of youth? I dont like it already. Not piratey enough.
The movie is going to stink, but I will probably go see it anyway. |

Aww, I'm gonna miss Will and Elizabeth but I'm super excited for Blackbeard. I also heard it has to do with him and his daughter looking for the fountain of youth if I am not mistaken.

The thing that kept magic of the film was the lack of Real Pirates. The third POTC had flags of real pirates in the Calypso sequence. That was really great! But we never saw the actual pirates. And Blackbeard's Queen Anne's was there.

This movie is going to be great because it takes a new direction since the previous trilogy. People all across the world did not INITIALLY like the third one. Neither did I. The third one has a good repeat-viewing quality which is one thing AWESOME about it. You ca see it again and again to configure through the complexities of the plot. IMO it's my third fav film of all time But this 4th movie will probably revive the magic of PotC for FIRST-TIME viewers, or people who want to give the series a second chance. I hope it plays a precursor to a new trilogy. |

Finally someone who agrees with me that it will be great. I agree completely with everything you said. Although I might miss Elizabeth and Will, there would be no point having them in this movie. Plus new characters are added and it's nice to see the movies going in a different direction. I am super excited to see it - especially to see how mean Blackbeard will be...he might be a new favorite of mine. ![]() |

I dont care if Blackbeard will be a nasty villain. It's not going to be the same! I've said it before and i'll say it again: The reason why people hate sequels so much is because they lack the original villain(Even though Jolly Roger and Davy Jones weren't in the first movie). For me, when Davy Jones died, so did the trilogy. Davy Jones was Pirates of the Caribbean to me ![]() Dont care about Beckett though. He was flatter then flat. Same goes for Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.. They wont be in the movie, it is not going to be the same. Same also goes for Pintel and Regetti, even though im not sure if they will return or not (I read that they wont) |

I understand how it's not gonna be the same and I totally get why people are not gonna like that...but the positive side is it won't be the same old same old. Change can be a good thing, and I'm overall glad it will be different since Will and Elizabeth's story is over with. At least that is what I have read.
Also, Blackbeard's daughter Angelica is defiantly going to be in the movie. For an official movie site, check out Internet Movie Database. She is listed on there, therefore I know it's official. |

Now saying that, let me come to the reason why I like Beckett. He was flat, yes, he was a character who I didn't even feel sad about. When his death scene came I just said "Ooh mesmerizing C.G.I." and probably "I hope he's learned his lesson". Beckett was this character who was sadistic, narcissistic, and who possessed a genocidal hate of pirates which resulted in him destroying all men, women and children who were convicted of associating with piracy. He didn't care for the lives of anyone around him and he was always this mysterious character. Mysterious because, when you look at him his face is just blankly staring at you, trying to take up Machiavellian ways of manipulation. He was meant to signify the darkness of Imperialism and his manipulation which made him control the seas was just evil. And evil because it was 1. just for good business and 2. for eradication of people he just despised for no particular reason (some history to that). Also, his lines... his lines were AMAZING. How he handled situations was said in his lines, and if you looked at his lines a bit closer you can see something else intended. For example that scene, where Liz threatens Cutler with a pistol... He clearly stated that he knew about what happened in Isla de Muerta the previous year and that was something really strange. "Ah, I see. You think the compass leads only to the Isla de Muerta, and so you hope to save me from an evil fate. But you mustn't worry: I care not for cursed Aztec gold, my desires are not so provincial. There's more than one chest of value in these waters…So perhaps you may wish to enhance your offer." He knew about the Curse of Cortes and the Dead Man's Chest of all things. When the film came I expected him to cower in fear at the sight of the King of the Seas, but he in fact reduced Jones to tears. And in Pirates Online, he made a multinational company join hands with a leader of Undead pirates who swarmed the Caribbean, and betrayed him when he saw the right time for it, even snubbing the Casa's efforts to destroy the Company. I treat Beckett as one of my favourite villains, because other than this, he was like... Lex Luthor? A man limited to his small human body, and powerful mind, to control over something FAR bigger. He and the Joker are a tie in my top villains. Lord Cutler Beckett symbolizing Imperialism, Industrailization and Tyranny. The Joker signifies Anarchy, Philosophy and pure madness. The exact opposites. They have one thing in common though- Psychological Manipulation. They both lie below my all time favourite Dark Lord - Sauron. Maybe even below Emperor Palpatine. You like Maleficent don't you? I somehow found your page on Youtube. Maleficent was someone I was really awed and scared about 10 years ago when I was 5-ish. But coming back to Pirates of the Caribbean. For me Pirates is about... Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa.... Lord Beckett, Davy Jones, Sao Feng, Will-Liz (okay, I don't hate them), James Norrington, Guv Swann... They're just one of those characters who'll come and go... It's only about Jack and Hector to me. But I shouldn't forget Gibbs and Pintel-Ragetti (sad that this duo isn't coming)... |

Aye thank you Chimera.
Elizabeth and Will are done, and most fans are only slowly recuperating from that "blow" to them (lol). Face it everyone, their story is over, and it clearly ended with "At World's End" |

Lol. I never used to be a fan of either of them. I was for Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa as one of my favs, but the VILLAINS, Lord Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones (okay maybe you can include Sao Feng and Barbossa into this list) were definitely my favourites.
