Wink Turtorial On Making Simple Signatures

NOTE THIS TURTORIAL IS FOR THE BASICS IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO USE PROGRAMS LIKE THIS PLEASE DO NOT POST BAD COMMENT.
Welcome to my turtorial on how to make a signature !

1. Downloading An Editor

The first thing you need to do is get a program to make your signature. I recommend Gimp. Why? because it is free, and it is easy. You will need to go to the site and download it at http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html. Dont worry it has no viruses. You will also need to download the one below first which is GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment.

2. Using Microsoft Paint

Once you have downloaded and installed the two programs, open up Gimp. Today I will show you how to make signatures using pictures. You will now need to open up pirates. When you log in take a simple picture of what you want to be in the backround of you signature. To do this simply press Print Screen on your keyboard. Now open up Microsoft Paint, click edit than click paste.

You should now see the picture you took. Use the select tool and make a rectangle going horizontal, (long parts going left and right). If you took a picture of a person, dont worry just cut of part of its body. Now copy the part you want to have and click new on MicroSoft Paint. Paste your picture and drag the little blue things so there is no white showing. Once you are done save your picture onto your desktop.

3. Using Gimp

Now it is time to use Gimp. Open it up and three windows should pop-up. Click Tip of the Day than click Close. Open up the one that says The GIMP and click
File < Open. Click Desktop and than the picture you just made. Another window should pop-up with that picture. Put it in full screen and open back up the GIMP. Now I'm just going to show you the basics, than you can experiment with it. Click the water drop and go to the picture. If you have a main object (ex. Your Pirate) blue the outline of the pirate. DO NOT USE IT TO MUCH! Now my favorite thing to do is make to layers by cutting out the main person and imprinting everything else with patterns. Since you do not have alot of patterns, just use one called galaxy. To do this click the button on The GIMP that says air brush. Your other window should show patterns click the one that says galaxy. Go to your picture and in each spot use it for about 3 seconds. Do NOT use it on your main object. Once you are done go back to the GIMP and find the big T. A thing below should let you edit your text. Change it how ever you feel than go back to your picture. On one of the corners type your name. Congrats! you just made the simplest picture in your life!

4. Uploading you picture

Save your picture to your desktop. And go to www.photobucket.com, create an account and upload your picture. You should get a link to your picture. Go to your Control Panel on this site. Go to signature and paste the link! Than your done!

Heres my simple pic

5. Getting better at it

If you would like to do more high tech stuff, use your gimp and test it with all the things you can do. I may make another turtorial on how to get more high tech.

ANYTHING YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND OR ANY MISTAKES I MADE PLEASE POST BELOW AND I WILL FIX IT OR MAKE IT MORE UNDERSTANDING
