How stupid can Disney get?!

I have recently been trying to find out how to get open chat on my pirate so i decided to go on live chat yesterday for someone's help and this is what I asked them

Hi is there any way of you making my account available for open chat?

He said: I am sorry at this moment but open chat is not available on disney sites

and then i was like so annoyed because i have seen people on pirates with open chat so what were they on about?

yes i had said more than that because i couldnt remember the rest and i talked to three people and two said the same and the other one said that open chat is not available for people 13 and under but you cant get even with adult permisson why?

Because they don't want to get sued.

The truth is that sometimes young people make decisions that might not be the best ones. And there are occasionally grown-ups standing by waiting to take advantage of those kids. Disney can not and will not let that happen so, under 13 = closed chat. Period.

It is a rule. Like it or not you still have to accept it.

oh thanks for the help guys but when i turn 13 will it automaticly turn to open chat?

No. It still has to be set up first, with parent approval.

It use to be that you could change your Parantal Contrule through Linked acounts but since people were just using linked acounts to get around getting band they got rid of links all together. When you turn 13 it will send you an e-mail saying congrats on turning 13 and will say you can now use open chats in Disney online games. ( This is what happened for my brother ) But I did once see that if you call Disney you can change your Parental Contrules. I am not sure if you can change the Open chat / Closed chat but its worth trying. This is the Phone number that Disney gave on its site too call, Phone: 866-993-6263 , try this out and I hope it works out for you mate, Good Luck =D.
