Is there pirate life after 40?

Once u run out of quests, what do u do? You try and become level 40. Then what?
Level up weapons, talk about boring. Only thing u can do is start over with another pirate. I finished the new quest in an hour. Hard to keeep my interest if im doin the same thing over and over.

I' level 37 and have run out of quests. When they come on as new quests I have completed them within a couple of days. I have found more quests from the jewellers and Orinda at the dock, but have now finished all of them. I understand what you mean - it is slightly boring without them, but I'm sure Disney will have more quests to add as the time goes on. I think the level 40 cap will be increased (hopefully!) so we will have further transportations to add such as Kingshead. Keep at it!!

i have bee lvl 333 foe week now sittingon lst trip to JohnSmith @ 99% Pearl.... lvl ing up skillz is taking its toll and since i mastered cannon , im a lil sad, i have new pirate to fill in those boring tyms other wise i am hangin out all and chatting

yea. ive seen higher! and also, even though it would suck if they never let you beat the game, wouldn't it also if your pirate- DIED! think about it! if your pirate just up in STOPPED DOnt you think that would not be fun! lol

Life after 40.....not much to it. Live after 2 40's, same thing. Just open another pirate out of the box and work again.

there is no life after 40 usually.

i kinda have abandoned my accounts, and moved on to another game, simply because in order to keep enjoying potco id either have to settle with conversing with friends, or making a completly new pirate and continuing a cycle ive already done before.

Disney makes it impossible to keep in touch out of the game, with my friends.
and i cant justify another game payment since i dont feel its worth it at this point.

I did a lil searching and found a decent windows/Linux MMORPG that runs decently on my comp with similar graphics, but runs smoother on my laptop..which isnt exactly a gaming machine in the first place. so thats whats been taking my free time. I do still check back here, and would really wish i could keep in touch with my friends alot easier,

because logging on with a level 40, im already crippled enough to not be able to level, buy anything, earn money, or do quests, and add onto that, I reverted to FREE access, so that means most of my remaining skills are locked/crippled too. not really an incentive to play at all.


so i will keep up to date on the news and forum, but as for playing, i have found another time waster in the meantime still have hope for this game though, and any major changes/additions might shift me back here as a player.

In the game? That depends on what you do and how you spend time... if your just in it for mostly the play - then life, though it doen't 'end' at 40 - does get pretty draggy...

If your life in the game is just more than just your goals of Leveling up and doing the available quests - then there's some. Everything from Guild competitions, if your a PvP player, to Chat to Just Goold Ol' Sailing With Friends Making Money and spending it like a pirate shoud may be in the cards...

It really depends on what you plan in the game - and what you plan to take out of it I think

I've started a 2nd pirate. I am looking at it as a chance to fix what I did wrong with the first pirate.

I am ignoring the Story Quests for a while and just concentrating on weapons and teleport quests. I figure once I get the PDF teleport, I'll start on the story quests again (as it stands I need to recruit Pidgly for the crew and that one is at 2%)

I'm paying a little more attention to keeping the weapons more balanced and also how I assign the skill points.

I won't bother with the improved weapons since at level 15 for each weapon will be the +6 (or the pistol +1) weapon quests. But I will be buying the better pistols along the way for the faster firing rates. And the pouches and belts because those just make life easier.

I will probably change my progression of ships as well, jumping from light frigate to frigate and then into the war fleet (although the cargo capacity is severely lacking).

It's definitely a challenge starting over. The ships are dramatically different and I am finding I need to get the skills a bit sharper (when you can take a broadside you can get sloppy). And deterining what I can and should not fight... let's just say I enjoyed the fact there were was not a groggy penalty until level 10.

He's up to level 11 and has the doll and dagger. Now is the boring, slow crawl to grenades at 20. With brief quests for the teleports to Port Royal and Cuba (and maybe a treasure quest??). And once there I will not neglect them like I did with the first character and tried to work them after everything else.

Now if after the 2nd pirate is finished there's no new content, it might be time to consider stopping the paid account.

Disney really should get new content up pronto.
They can't expect to hold gamers' interest especially for a pay game, if you can max out and have nothing to do. The very least they can do is give us new quests.
Are you all saying there is nothing after the capture of the Black Pearl? I've been taking my time with my pirate, leveling up, because I have limited access to this computer. So I am still interested in the game, but when there were no new quests it was tedious.
If they expect to make any money on this game they had better make it a little easier for us to communicate with each other, and keep us busy...and I don't mean the lame Blackjack Fridays.

You'll never run out of quest because there are always new ones. Plus the townfolk quest. And the weapon quest. And the new Skeleton quest between the french and the spanish. There is always something new each month.

Haha, Sorry Richard, but your post made me laugh. Once you hit 40, and have completed the quests....then you have nothing to do at all. There are also people who have all 4 pirate slots mastered and nothing to do. Then what...I cant quite figure out how to put my pirates finger up her nose.....

Life after 40...if you consider leveling weapons after you are 100% done with quests life then yes.
But it also depends on what you do in the game, if your a guildmaster, PvP maniac, leaderboard pirate, ETC, then after you master all, do what you like to do. I myself made another pirate and will work on him for a good amount of time while taking good time to guildmaster. Since I will have to redo the quests at some point with my new pirate, starting another might be kinda boring.... I can't say the same about guildmastering though, I like to GM.

Disney REALLY needs to have something for us lvl 40s to do while waiting for the next chapter.
