How do you find another player?

I'm trying to find my kids in the game and I can't see them. All three of us were standing on the dock in Port Royal and we could not see each other. How do we see each other?

were you all on the same server?

sounds like you were all in different servers to change servers you could

A) During game play press the m button or go to the map and on the top of the menu should be a drop down menu click that it should bring up a list of servers or "oceans" make sure u and your kids choose a single one and all go to that server

B) before game play while choosing which pirate to use when u are stamding on the docks. on the lower left hand corner is a box click the drop down menu there is the list of servers or "oceans" make sure u and your kids choose the same one

Different servers are like being in a different world. Theres 53 servers and 53 port royal docks if that makes sense (I dont know the exact number of servers though).

I tried this with my brother it was really fun yet hes only 6 so he really doesnt understand the game :P

Or friend them and then have them teleport to you.
