Cannot even configure my pirate

Ok since the Disney tech service is useless, I am operating on vista, I have downloaded program multiple times and I keep getting a connection broken before I can even configure my pirate.
I have also downlaoded this program to my work laptop and if works fine (xp proffessional).
I have made sure to try and hardwire my connection but nothing works.
This is my last option before I start using my work laptop to play with my son online.
Can anyone lend some advice?

We feel for you, three of our four computers have the same problem. Nvidia says it is a graphics card problem on the three. The three that we can not play on we have Nvidia 6800 graphic cards. Nvidia has been in contact with us for a couple of weeks and said hopefully an update in the future wll correct the issue.
They have seen all of our computers specs and said that it is the graphics card and that is the only thing it could be.
