A Year in Recap

This year has been quite the year for all of us pirates in the Caribbean!

New enemies floated out from the horizon in to our waters in the form of Bounty Hunters, looking to smother out the pirates of the Caribbean, and pirates became a little more infamous as we honed our skills in the ways of battle. Blackbeard's fearsome ship the Queen Anne's Revenge sailed in to our waters looking for a challenge, and even the pirates of the Caribbean themselves began to build up and customize their ships to show their own valor out on the seas.

And as our enemies began to rise up against us, the pirates themselves took to their guns to take a stand against evil in the Caribbean, in what turned out to be a summer I'm sure none of us will soon forget:

And of course, let's not forget how we ourselves have developed; the community grew stronger, friendships were made, rivalries were forged, guilds rose and fell, and once again we have seen a year where the ever changing landscape of the Caribbean continues to surprise and shock us at every turn. But, the good news is that we all are still here and kicking with one another - and that, my friends, is all that counts

But as we turn our heads towards a new year, full of new opportunities and chances to make ourselves the best we can be, let's just take a moment to reflect back on all that has happened this past year - what went right, what went wrong, and what we think we could have done better. It's always important that we just take a few moments out of our ordinary days to look back and appreciate what has brought us here; so, let's do that right now.

What are some of your biggest memories from your past year in the Caribbean? What chilled you to the core, what left you in a daze, and what left an impression on you that you won't forget for years to come? We've all had those moments in the past year, but which one was the most significant for you?

For me, it comes down between two of my fondest memories from my entire experience in the Caribbean.

The first one was, of course, Operation: For the Rum! It was perhaps the first event that I not only lead in-game on such a large scale, but one of the largest events I had ever witnessed up to that point. It really was a moment that I had to step back and think about what I was watching unfold right before me. Before it, I had never felt the Caribbean be so close together as one.

However, I always love to outdo myself; and this came in the form of my second memory, the Partners in Crime Four Year Anniversary. It was just one of those evenings that made all of those tireless years of hard work pay off, and it made me appreciate the wonderful guild that I have even more than I have before (which is a hard thing to do, trust me!)

Now, what about you, mates? Come forth and share what memories you think were the most significant from the past year in the Caribbean - I'm sure we'd all love to hear them!

Del, I think you took all of ours. I wish I had made it to atleast half of those. I will have to put a pirate into your guild, as they are the first to know. I think I really did enjoy when we made our barricade of ships and totally demolished the Navy. I don't think I'll ever forget that. Again, I should have shown up to the others, but all this new stuff this year has made this game even more of a blast. Can't wait until next year with its new surprises!
