What ships will you own and why?

When the Brig hits live, what 3 ships will you own? Those not currently on Test will have a tougher time answering as you haven't taken the Brig out for a spin.
If Disney opened more slots for owning ships this question wouldn't hold much water. However as far as we know, we can still only own 3 ships. What's it going to be?

I will be having a War Sloop, a War Frigate and a War Brig, and I have a tip for some of you wishing to purchase a War Brig (or any kind of Brig) and want to save some money...

Let's say you're like me and wanting to sell your War Galleon to buy a War Brig. You have all war ships, and you're at max gold, and willing to save some money. When the Brig comes out, sell the War Sloop, even if you want to keep it. Then buy the War Brig. Now sell the War Galleon, and buy back the War Sloop.

You can do this with any ship, but if you're far from max gold don't bother doing it. This allows you to keep more money than you would have if you'd just sold the ship you didn't want and then bought the Brig.

Thanks for the tip, I know my set is going to cost me a fortune.

I think I'm going to have a War Sloop and 2 War Brigs.

The War Sloop is obvious, for SVS and quick transport, will have streamlined upgrade.

One Brig is going to be for looting, will have cargo upgrade.

Then last Brig is going to be again for SVS, probably have the streamlined upgrade again.

I will have a war frigate, a war brig, and maybe a war sloop (if the brig works well in svs I will have that instead). war frigate for fighting hunters, war brig for plunder and fighting, war sloop or brig for svs. war frigate will have reinforced, or maybe S&C, war brig will have fortune hunter, and war sloop or brig will have streamlined or firestorm.

My second pirate will have a light sloop (for when I'm basic, which is half the time), a war sloop (for svs) and a war brig (for everything else).

I think I'm going to have just two after the Brig and stuff comes out. I'll have my War Sloop (I already sold my War frigate for a gold boost to save up) and my new, customized War Brig. :P Depending on how much I like the brigs versus frigates, I may buy a light brig... if i don't like it that much, i'll go for the light frigate (these are for if and when I go basic again. )

I am going to buy a War Brig, leaving me with a War Brig, a War Frigate, and a War Sloop. I think this update will pretty much lead Galleons to extinction.

Well, seeing what the normal Brig has done on test...

I'll be buying a War Brig, and i'll have my War Sloop and Light Sloop.

Light Sloop, of course, is for basic access.
War Sloop is currently my favorite ship, speed and maneuverability.
The War Brig I like over the War Frigate because of its similar cargo space and broadsides; but, from what i've seen, it's also a little faster and more maneuverable.

What i'm gonna do to save money...

Gonna sell my Light Sloop and buy the War Brig. ( so I'll be at 120k gold ) Then, I'm gonna sell my War Frigate ( to get 30k back ) and re-purchase my Light Sloop. ( i've done this kinda stuff countless times in my years )

I'm surprised at how many people are selling their War Galleons. So far the general consensus in-game is that the War Frigate should be sold to make room for the War Brig (which, honestly, makes no sense to me...). I despise galleons, though. For months I've only had a War Sloop and a War Frigate, so my ships will be:
  • My primary ship, the Red Queen (War Brig)
  • Secondary ship, the Midnight Raven (War Frigate)
  • Tertiary/Guild ship, the Victory Shark (War Sloop)

I plan to have a War Brig, a War Frigate, and a War Sloop.
  1. Shadow Phoenix (War Brig): Main ship. Will be used for battling, general sailing, hunters, etc.
  2. Shadow King (War Frigate): With the upgrades I plan to give the War Brig, the War Frigate may be a bit obsoleted, but I will be keeping it because it's the Shadow King.
  3. Shadow Queen (War Sloop): Mainly I'll use it for just getting from one island to another quickly, and probably SVS.

I'm not so sure what upgrades I plan to give them, but I'm leaning to a cargo and open fire upgrade on the War Brig, and probably a reinforced on the War Sloop.

  • Victory Shark War Frigate - Being the original guild ship for four years, it is going to remain as such. It'll be used for guild events, ceremonies, and will be used mainly as a battleship for hardcore fighting.
    • Reinforced III
    • Offense III
    • Skull and Crossbones Upgrade
    • Gold Sails with Black Dragon Emblem
  • Victory Shark War Sloop - Instead of being outfitted to maximize on speed, it's going to be going along the same route as the War Frigate and is going to be outfitted like a tank for some serious SvSing, with a few minor substitutions.
    • Cargo III (Don't want to sacrifice any speed for armor)
    • Offense III
    • Fortune Hunter
    • Gold/Black Sails with Black/White Dragon Emblem
  • Sea Dragon War Brig - My personal ship. It'll be used mainly for Cargo and plunder runs... or if I want to remember what it was like to be young. *sob*
    • Cargo III
    • Defense III
    • Fortune Hunter
    • Blue Sails with a Black/White Dragon Emblem

Streamlined does not get rid of armor (it only gets rid of turning), you cant stack S&C on reinforced, fortune hunter on cargo etc. it has to be one or the other, rigging upgrades only go up to II,.

Actually, Streamlined (I) decreases turning AND cargo a little, and each of them do go up to Rank III. After you get to rank III, you chose to either go to S&C, Fortune Hunter or Firestorm.

( V - Correct, Rigging goes to rank 2, but streamlined is a hull upgrade - V )

Trust me, there are sources for this. ( Plus I was on test most of the time for the first week of the update. )
oh ya forgot. I know that hull upgrades go up to III, then rank IV, but RIGGING upgrades only go up to rank II.
