Capture the Dread Pirate Requiem!

If ye be determined to find this reprobate, then it is clear we must have an understanding as to the method for all to follow. We don't want no one sneaking around behind arrrgh backs and stealing arrrgh treasure without following the map step by step.

The basic rules to follow:

No teleportation - we want ye to walk every single step when ye ain't a sailin'.

None of the voodoo arts - if ye are found to be a practicin' the dark arts, then ye will be disqualified and made to walk the plank.

No jumpin ahead - figure out each clue and then precede to the next one, or else.

When ye find a pirate where you expect to find one according to the clue that got ya there, then whisper "Where is the Dread Pirate Requiem?". If you have found the right pirate, they will give ya the next clue. Otherwise - keep a huntin'.

The game begins at the fourth bell (for you landlubbers that be 4:00 P.M. EST*) on Saturday January 12th, come to this post and you will get the startin' clue.

Follow it at yer own peril

Ye have until the eighth bell (four hours = 8:00 P.M. EST) to find the pirate. Ye can start at any point in time between the fourth and eighth bell. The winner of the bounty will be determined by the pirate who does the round of clues within the shortest time. Yer pirate name and time will be logged by the first pirate ye find within the game. Each pirate that gives ye a clue will also note your name/time and your end time will be signified by the receipt of the 'catch' phrase from the quarry.

Listen up children and you shall hear,
A tail of mischief and trouble I fear,
The Dread Pirate Requiem just couldn’t behave
And treated most of his guild mates to a surprise midnight shave
Upon waking to this terrible sight,
The others gathered together as he took flight

The challenge is issued, so do your best
To find the rogue pirate will be truly a quest
Fame and fortune can be found
By those that take time to look around
The path begins on Tortuga where he hatched his plan
Next door to the bar attached to a hand.

If anyone is playing pirates on a free account - they can't finish the last clue.

I knew it was in that spot, but thought you wouldn't put it there due to the basic accounts, now I've lost precious time, and will not win, because of this mistake, same with a lot of others I bet. Yes, you have a constolation prize, but I think this should have been thought out more than it did. I thought right away that it was there, but knew right off as well, that they made a mistake. I also got a clue from Batleth, that said it was in an isla infront of it, which was giving out wrong clues (misleading), which made me get even farther behind on time.

Congrats Hile! We were tied, when we went to Batleth, but then i was lost, because I knew it was in Kingshead, but I thought it wouldn't be fair to basic members so i searched at every other island, I was about 3-3 and a half hours behind you lol.
