The Time Has Come
The time has come for change. Not just any change, like adding a new rule in or planning a new set of events, no. A whole change in the way we run our guild. A change in the way we as a guild live.
Since our founding, we have done mainly one thing to grow: to recruit. Whether that meant flipping a coin on an A server, or inviting a random person we see without a guild, we have always invited members into our guild without really thinking or caring. We did it for the sake of numbers. To get from one to two, for the sake of it. Perhaps we were thinking Quantity over Quality. Perhaps we just wanted to be big and mighty. For whatever reason, I believe that it is time for change. Recent events in the guild have made me realize that inviting random strangers into this guild is wrong. You never know who will end up here, and it gets too chaotic. Most importantly, it makes us a huge group of strangers, rather than a big happy family. And that is what we want most, a family. Inviting random people on a large scale leads to a not very personal group, where nobody knows anyone. If this change is not made, then I fear that this may occur. This is why we are making this change. Today at our officer meeting, we discussed this, and without any debate, we agreed it was time to change our philosophy. No longer are we to invite members to get bigger as a guild, but we are to invite members to get better as a guild. I want to make clear now, to all veterans and officers of this guild, that you are not to recruit! Never! Now, don't go thinking that we're not going to grow anymore, no no no! Continue to invite members, but not for the sake of growing. If you know a person who you think would be a good addition to this guild, then by all means ask them if they want to join! My point is that invitations to our guild shouldn't just go out for the sake of growing. Do it because you know that this person will be a good addition to our fine guild. A new era is dawning on the Shadow Sorcerors mates! A new era that will take us further than ever before! HAIL TO THE SHADOW SORCERORS GUILD! |

I am behind you 100,000,000,000,000,000.9999999999999999999999999% behind you on this Davy! I have noticed a lot of problems caused by carelessly inviting people (such as Drama and disrespect of rules) I believe this change will take our fantastic guild and put us one step closer to the top of the list!

I'm glad we're becoming a smaller guild. And yes, it will definitely help us get that family atmosphere feeling. Getting rid of some pirates decreases our numbers, but we don't need numbers to show we're one of the best.
Hail, to the Shadow Sorcerors.

Sharky is so right numbers mean nothing many smaller guilds are very very strong -points to the mighty PNC- and they are one of the best around! Shadow Sorcerors is number one in my heart and with this change and some hard work we could get ourselves right up there with those old Partners savvy?
