Here is, as promised, the introduction for the story of Sam Bladebeard. Enjoy! (Well, I hope ye do so!)
The tale of the Bladebeard
The Bladebeard family found its origins in Dover, an important port of England. From the first member to the last known, they were all part of the Royal Navy and experienced sailors. Some men of the family even participated in some of the great battles against the French and Jean Bart in the late 1600s. However, in the family, there was an exception. The latest member of this long line of sailors, Sam, of course did become a sailor but not with the Royal Navy. He set sail with the Navy of the French in direction of the New World. Of course, his father always denied him due to this choice. Well, it didn’t really matter for Sam cause he hated his father. His father was always valourising his merits and battles, though his exploits were all but interesting. The family of Sam was harassing him, so he decided to leave the family’s home after his 18 years .
Sam Bladebeard was born in 1684, in Dover, from his mother Clara and his father Frank. He was the only kid in the family’s domicile. He had a Tough youth, as he had to work in order to pay some of the parents bills. Even if his father was a veteran of war, he all dispensed the allocation he received in alcohol. Clara decided to leave when Sam was only 8 years old, cause she was annoyed by the comportment of Frank. This had to be a hard period for the young boy, as he was really close to his mom. The young boy Sam past 10 more years with his alcoholic dad and then decided to leave for Dunkerque.
During the trip across the Atlantic Ocean, the french ship by the name of « Rose des Vents » saw the scurvy attack the crew. Hardly hit by the illness, almost the entire crew of the frigate went out of combat. By the 8th July of 1702, the ship, as many of other ships from the Old World, suffered an attack of pirates. Normally, the crew would have been able to sink the pirates ship but being all ill, the pirates had no difficulties with this plunder. The rare crew members that were not yet ill were taken aboard the pirate ship while the others were left dead behind. Cruel destiny they had. Sam, who was a really courageous and cunning man, escaped the pirates and organised a mutinery aboard the pirate sloop. Along with some friends, he achieved this act of bravery really well and took control of the sloop. He then set sail to Port Royal. His career as a pirate had just begun!
