Ban dolls from pvp?
Well, I was just doing the Muertos Moon today, and I got attuned to by some level 40 girl. Of course she killed me, even though Im a level 50. Reason being that its extremely difficult to hit players when they are running away from you casting spells on you. After I died I ended up killing her with my Banshee doll as she tried to escape... that felt good....
Anyway! This brought up an old idea of mine that maybe they should ban dolls from PVP. It is increasingly annoying when a player attunes to and just keeps casting spells on you, and you cant hit them, except with a vipers nest, in which cast they just reattune you and end up killing you. Maybe not for all players... maybe for just players above level 10... |

I think it's fine. While we're at it, let's ban guns for doing so much damage and having a high range, let's ban broadswords for hitting an area that's WAY too big, and let's ban staves for just doing so much damage. Let's ban daggers for being able to throw a viper nest, and...
Seriously, you could run away and break the attunement, or don't let them get close enough in the first place. Or attune them using Evil Eye. Something. |

They shouldn't ban any weapon from PvP. It may be annoying, but everyone has to deal with it.
Plus.. it's not that hard to fight someone using a doll, or any other weapon for that matter. Just have to change the way you fight to match what the enemy is using. |

I could see a system where you could turn off certain weapons, and even chose where you battle, and even know who you were going to be fighting. In another game... sorry, but POTCO's PvP is too bland, and will remain the simple trap its always been due to the players to PvPers ration. Disnye just doesn't care for it, so I don't see why we bother.

ya u could just run away and break the attune cuz like u said she was running but u killed her before she could but if u ran fast enough u could of lost her then came after her by sneaking up that could be fun for u lol

I'm level 46 and I got killed by a level 29 with doll during Pvp, kept running around, kinda annoying but there are ways to solve it.
1. use staff, falming skull. 2. use vipers belt, take out doll and attune enemy when they try to attune you. 3. use grenade, long volly (face down toward the ground if your not throwing far. 4. take miracle water if your health is running low, then take swift foot then swim in the water far away from shore, the enemy's doll will lose attunement (only works with the curse, not pvp) But there are fun things about the curse, if your on PR, you can bladestorm and AFK noobs who didn't get indoors.

Doll users in pvp grind my gears. I usually try to contact whoever I'm pvping in chat. If that fails and they just keep running away like a baby, then I'll just leave. Honestly, the doll takes very little skill to use. All you have to do is get into range and then use your compass to stay away from them without letting them escape. Other than this, there is no strategy. The doll really doesn't take any aiming or strategy other than that. Needless to say, it is overpowered.

It would be a far better idea to have a system like the one mentioned by Raikel. Where the players get to choose which weapons, location, duration, and type of PvP, such as Flag. They could use so many models to improve this.

I like the system that Raikel mentioned, and would like to see it enter the game, but I'd also like to see a PVP only island/area.
I want to have an island where there are no rules, and there's different PVP areas. One area would be an all out war, with bushes to hide in, and secret places to hide, and the compass would be gone. This would be strickly for fun. Another area could be for hide and seek, or tag, and you can't be touched.(This is a kids game, after all, and tag would be entertaining no matter who your age, I think) And let's not forget a capture the flag game, where you can join a team and you have to try and escape the other team, although when you get close to the place to drop the flag, they can start shooting you with cannons. I enjoy PVP, a lot, and the matches get boring because you have people that just jump around you and use the doll. While it's annoying, it's pretty easy to kill these people off with the Holy Pistol, and other famed pistols and blunderbusses. But I want a face to face sword match, where our cutlasses collide and we have to click fast to get out of this "stuck" mode. I went a bit off with my post, but PVP in general needs to be improved. |

Raikel, I like your idea. We should be able to choose weapons, tonics, potions, etc available in a pvp match.
Mac, I also agree with all your ideas. Perhaps some of you are right, I could just break their attunements and show them my banshee or curse breaker doll, but I still think that dolls aren't good weapons for pvp. As James said, they require no skill to use and is overpowered. I never use them unless my opponent doesnt listen when I yell "NO DOLLS!" at the beginning of a pvp. Otherwise Ill use my sword, dagger, and a good gun. Off topic, but we should be able to change our weapon belt and use potions when we pvp. It gets annoying when a player is running away from me and I dont have my trusty Corsair's Bayonet handy. And it would be fun to sneak up on someone with a phantom spirits.... |

Ah, this is why I never try and do PVP. If you dont have vipers nest, or something, you get attuned by some mastered with a 5 swarm and 5 life drain. Then the basically grave shackle you and you're dead. I just wish they made it so in PVP the doll balanced with other weapons.

Augh, amen to that! I'm at lvl 23 right now and some level 15 guy invited me to do a pvp so of course I accepted, thinking I could kick his rear end. Though lucky enough for me, my darn slow and laggy computer took forever to load the pvp and he got to attune me before I could even move my pirate, so he started running around like a chicken with its head cut off, casting voodoo magic on me. Then of course after I died he did it again.
In the end I only got to hit him 3 times. |

You could try to be clumsy with your grenade and kill yourself before they do it to you. Aside from the humility, that gets me out of tough spots.
