Completed boss battle, and didnt count????

I got to 99% in story chapter quest, and it told me to do boss battle, so I did it with a crew and completeled it, but the quest is still incomplete!!!!!!!!! Still tells me to do boss battle!! why????

Not sure mate, you sure it doesn't tell you to visit Jack? If not, just try again and if it still doesn't work, then E-Mail disney, or try again on a different day, I've had it happen to me when I defeat counless ships and none of them count, I try the next day it starts to work, so maybe try again tomorrow or switch distrcits, or log out and log in.

You have to start the Boss Battle through the Journal, not the PvP/etc. menu. Starting it through the Journal tells the game you are doing it to complete the quest.

You have to start it through the journal, as Thunder said. Also, I think that you have to be crew leader, although I'm not sure.

However sometimes it does that even if the start is from the journal.

I have had times where it is out of my journal but it still says to go see John Smith next to the compass.

You don't have to be the crew captain, you don't have to drive, you don't even have to be the one to start it, but who ever starts it must use the button that appears in the journal after you complete the quest. If a pirate that has completed it already uses Lookout to start the battle, it won't count. If several pirates who need to Liberate the Pearl go together, they will all get credit as long as it gets started from someone's journal.

The boss battle is very glitchy, it is possible to complete the battle but not get credit. Just consider that as a practice run and go again!
