Miss the time before revive, just a little bit
In many ways I have created my own problems. I could care less about rep/xp the majority of the time. I have one level 50 and do not really want to master the rest of my pirates.
Since, I will revive and do not complain if people tp without asking and start attacking the lonely darkhart I spent time looking for on a empty server. There are times when I tire of pouring tonic down the level 15 that has no chance of defeating the undead gypsy but insists on attacking it. Since revive and the risky of pesky groggy removed, I find more and more pirates that expect the tonic and even for you to tp to deliver it like a pizza. What has your experience with revive been like? |

Rather annoying in fact, although it makes raiding parties easier. People will be calling from all over, "HELP! HELP!" and I'll be saying, "Where?". Finally, I'll find them just as they fade away to jail.

During invasion the basics scream at you to revive them and I don't revive people like that. I am more obliged to revive the people i'm in a crew with though. Personally, I myself don't beg for people to revive me ((courtesy of the clap o'thunder potion, which helps removes grog if i go to jail)).

Couple more cents to add, if I and the aforementioned lvl 15 are working darkheart together, even informally, I'll probably revive. If he starts in on his own and expects me to help and or revive him, good luck. As for invasions, when I'm the one needing reviving, I find it is quicker to just go to jail on the spot rather than lay on the ground begging and screaming.

Now I look like a sorry sailor!
What I miss, is that since 'Revive' is active, the times in jail count is WAY down. It sure would have been nice if these guys had a hefty 'Times in Jail' tally like those of us who played before revive. Maybe it should be more like a rite of passage, and you can only be revived if you are over level 20. That might stop some of the pitiful, ungrateful, cries for help . |

I like revive for crew and guild mates. Since we have a TP rule in our guild, I don't have a big problem with mates going down due to the huge discrepancy between their level and that of the enemy. However, when people I do not know join us and the difference in levels is significant, I will revive them the first few times and then inform them that it is unfair for them to ask us to spend our tonics on them when they are clearly in over their heads. If they continue to ignore it, I will watch them perish.

My favorite technique during invasions...
Find the level 4 pirates spamming "HELP! HELP! HELP!" and walk over, press shift to revive... ...wait until it is about 80 or 90% done reviving... Press Esc then shift. ...wait until it is about 80 or 90% done reviving... Press Esc then shift. ...wait until it is about 80 or 90% done reviving... Press Esc. Press enter, then "/clap" then enter, as I watch them go to jail. For the most part, restarting the "fake revive" immediately prevents other people from coming along and reviving the super annoying dude. It astounds me that kids are afraid to go to jail in this game. It's as though a giant piece of pirate folklore has been lost. This technique is the only thing about "revive" that I like. |

I don't mind reviving friends, guild members, and even strangers. However it does get annoying that people expect us to revive them. Almost every invasion I have done, there is always one low level pirate who ends up dieing, however instead of going to jail, they decide to waste time yelling "HELP!" Whenever a player tends to do that, I decide to leave them there. But if they do not scream for help, I'll normally revive the one with the least amount of time remaining.
I don't really get why some people are scared to go to jail in this game. All you do is lose some time, as well as a very small fraction of your health. There is a potion (as mentioned in this thread) that removes the health part.. but even if it isn't available to you, you're still the one who died. |

Invasions are a different matter to me. I think they are for everyone and I don't mind reviving anyone, regardless of level, during those. However, there is an exception. If the keg runners come, and we are yelling for them to GET OUT OF THE WAY so that we can kill the Kegs without knocking them out, I may choose to not revive them.

never revive one that attacks a kegger with a sword or dagger. They should have learned by now not to do that.
I also do revive almost everyone I can when jolly shows up. I often run out of tonics doing so. But if you are under level 10 just go to jail as the groggy won't effect you anyways and I will run past you to that level 10 and up. When I go down I will often just lay there until I get revived or I can get my other pirate over there to revive myself. But if my other pirate is healing others I will let myself go to jail. SAme thing applies if both of my pirates are healing others I won't be reviving anyone. |

Revive is a touchy matter. I will hands down always revive a Krewemate. There are only extreme rare exceptions when I won't revive someone in crew with me. In fact I can name only one time, involving a random tping rep stealer whom I crewed before I he started attacking my targets despite the many times I asked him to stop.
In general, I will revive you if: You are a Krewemate, I revive any time any place no question. If you are in crew I will revive you. If I random happen on someone kod, I will revive you. If you say thank you, I will revive again. (Assuming you aren't purposely fighting things beyond your abilities, I will revive you a third, or even fourth time.) In an invasion if you revive me and are then kod. In an invasion, I will revive you, unlimited or basic, any level (with one exception.) I will NOT revive you: In an invasion if you are screaming for help. Jail is faster most times, and politeness will take you much farther. If I revive you once and you do not say thank you, I do not revive a second time. If you are a very low level fighting something far too big for you. I will revive one time and only one. Thank you or not if you are a level 6 basic you have no business trying to fight Darkhart and his minions. (And yes, that happened last week.) If you are warned I am in a place too big for you, and yet you tp anyway, and start attacking things. I will heal you if I can, but if you get kod, I will revive one time and one time only. If I flat out tell you please do not tp and you do anyway, I do not revive. (This has yet to happen, but if, ya know?) I tend to play high level pirates, if I tell you not to tp it's cause I don't think you can survive where I am. All in all I don't mind revive. I simply mind having people demand it and not being polite enough to thank you when you do. I mind people who now go and fight things far too big despite careful warnings that perhaps this enemy is beyond you at the time. I've been known to play 2 pirates, and there are times I won't even revive myself! (Yes really.) I do in fact take my 15 to Darkhart to get rep healing my 41. If my 15 attracts attention, off to jail she goes. Really it all comes down to common curtosey, if you have it I revive you if you don't, I won't. |
