Voodoo Staff - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

Reached level 30 and I do not see a quest for the voodoo staff. I also cannot buy one from any gypsy. Under the weapons tab, it says it is unlocked at level 30, so what am I missing? Anyone having the same problem?

I can't tell when it unlocks, mine just says requires training. I would think when you reach a certain voodoo level, we'll get to train for it.

My voodoo level is maxed at 20. I actually have cutlass, pistol, voodoo doll and dagger maxed at level 20. If you press "I" it says unlocked at level 30. If it follows like grenades, which unlocked at level 20 overall Notoriety, then the quest should unlock at level 30 of the same. It hasn't, so I am curious to know from anyone that has unlocked it.

I am nowhere near that yet but it sounds like a bug - I'd report and continue to report until they fix it

Are you at "notoriety" level 30, or "voodoo" level 30? I would think that the staff should unlock and the latter, not the former.

Notoriety level 30. You cannot reach voodoo level 30 as it caps at 20, just like every other weapon or skill. Reading under the "I" key in game, it says unlocked at notoriety level 30, not voodoo. Just like it said grenades unlocked at notoriety level 20.

I wasn't sure about that either a friend of mine on there is at level 30 but doesn't have it either. I think they haven't gotten that far in the game yet lol.

Do you get to continue to advance powers once you reach level 20 on a weapon. (I mean, I just got shackles on vodoo when I reached level 18. I would love to max this out, or would the maximum be 2 increases and then done)

Well, atm, you can only go to level 20, but I'm almost positive that it will go to unlmited level, or at least a lot higher, once the game opens, or once it's open for a month or two.

October 26, 2007 release notes say some tweaks were made to the voodoo staff, yet I still have not received the quest or able to buy a voodoo staff. It still says voodoo staff is released at level 30 notoriety ala by pressing the *I* key. So, I ask again, has anyone released this weapon yet, and if you have, how so?

You need to bug report this matter. Once PotCO is aware of it, they will surely do something about it.

Don't hold your breath...I've been stuck for a couple of weeks on my lvl 24 with incomplete rum tasks, they tell me I've completed 4/5, 5/6 etc. but don't list the other task, so I can't complete them or get new ones. The only task I COULD work on is now bugged also, and not allowing me to play Blackjack. Funny, I can play poker with no issue.

Anyway, I've sent numerous bug reports, and they told me they'd fix it in another update, but so far nothing.
