No New Story Chapter - Is it because of the forth movie?

Anyways, stupid theory.. Do you think the reason why we have no story chapters is because of the next Pirates movie? They could be waiting for the forth movie to come out so that they can make a few refrences to the movie in the next story chapter.

That's probably why, although it could be they're releasing a tiny bit at a time, making a story without an actual quest. Although I'm sure a lot of people here would prefer a quest.

I think the reason there is no story chapter is because it isn't the right time to release it. Think about it, what we are in the middle of is stuff about Raven's Cove, El Patron, El Patron's weapons, etc. Wouldn't it seem a bit odd if they all of the sudden plopped in the Kraken and the second story chapter? I doubt it has anything to do with the 4th movie, because remember, this game takes place between POTC 1 and POTC 2. Its a theory though.

You guys are forgetting, the next 'big' quest seems to be Raven's Cove. Why wasn't the Kraken and Davy Jones released? Oh, I think that's quiet obvious, now.

Voice actors. All the actors from the movies have been doing their POTCO character voices for the game. If you don't believe me, go to the POTC site and look through the videos. You'll see that actor that played Joshamee doing a voice over for the game.

If you're doing that with the next story quest, besides Raven's Cove, then we might be waiting a while.

Think about it, Disney needs Jack Sparrow for two things, the forth movie, and the game. The movie wins be default, because it's going to make more money anyways.

Only one POTCO voice was done by the original movie actor. According to one source, Kevin McNally who plays Joshamee Gibbs, is the ONLY movie actor who did a voice over for POTCO

Everyone else on POTCO is a either a professional voice actor or an actor who could do a good accent.

I think the real reason that Chapter 2 is not out yet is that it's just not ready yet. The Kraken is obviously a bust and I would be VERY surprised to EVER see it in the game. If the Kraken doesn't work, then the entire story has to be restructured. That takes a while...

I think the Kraken is a bust just because the way the game is laid out. I cant see how you would fit a monster attacking a ship in the game unless the monster itself acted like a ship with like tentacle instead of cannon shot. As it is you cant really attack over the rail like you use to be able to and I haven't seen any eitc or soldiers running around on a ship waiting to be boarded like I use to. If the Kraken does make an appearance someday then I will be pleasantly surprised but I do understand that some things just cant really be pulled off or is not worth the time which may be the case. Its a good game with or without it.

As far as a chapter two who knows .... at some point I am sure one will be introduced however, they are still doing updates from requests made a couple of years ago. I think the amount of updates done this year has been extreamly impressive... The game maps have been redesigned, mini-games added, graphics changed I honestly cant complain at all about the amount of work and quality that has been done since the games release. I for one will enjoy the fishing and future unavailing of the island knowing that more improvements must be around the corner as they have continually revamped the game from the start. I dont even remember guilds being around when I started it however I could be wrong and just never noticed them as I was so busy hacking away at all those monsters...lol.

I really dont think the movies have much of any kind of influence over the game any more. I have seen screen shots that look like a different version of the game on the internet that looks like it was based on other movies as the characters are identical to potc but the jacket colors are different. The ongoing developed story lines in potc just dont really match any more and frankly Jack Sparrow as a character does not really appear after you finish the Black Pearl chapter as far as I know. I also remember towards the end of it that in one quest for instance I had to defeat about a hundred ships (before they redid the islands) anyways it was more time consuming then challenging... The would have to come up with a way to keep it from being just another twenty fly traps or villager with issues. Once I got to Gunner I was skimming the story line like crazy to get on to the next list of kills. Guilds have become such a large part of the game I think I would rather see complex Guild challenging boss type battles rather than taking another tour of the caribb.

My own theory is that there were several chapters laid out - as all of the video evidence seems to show, but they were not complete and time slipped away.

They never could get the Kraken to work and 2 YEARS went by.

So, i think they went back to square one and either plan on writing whole new story to get us to the 4th movie or they may NEVER do another true chapter again.
