Burning out my PC?
Hi,
Whenever I go sailing on POTCO my fan speed goes way up. I've seen it reach 1232 RPM. I was wondering if this is OK for my PC and if it would not damage anything? Also, my computer is in a cabinet with the door open and the fan facing the door (not the best ventilation, I know...) Thanks!

Aye I understand what you mean, I have it the same way. I do not think it will really hurt the comp as long as you have the door open. What I do is during the night I keep it open when it is off, so air can get in and out during the night. If you are still conserned what I also do is whenever the comp is not in use I just shut it down and give it a break. Hope this helps mate =D.

Modern CPUs will shut themselves down if they start to get dangerously hot, so permanent damage is unlikely. But I wouldn't tempt fate. I'd try to get better ventilation for my computer. If all else fails taking the cover off your PC could help.

Ok, thanks for all the help!... I didn't want to wreck anything since this was a new computer. I also considered lowering the graphics settings a bit so the fan doesn't have to work so hard and the CPU doesn't get so hot during sailing...
