Invasions easier when less pirates present?
Is it true that when less pirates are on a server during an invasion less enemies are sent out or their HP is lower?
I just fought in an invasion on Cruzos and it was fairly easy. I died twice and protected some barricades all by myself. It was a bit hard, and I was a bit scared Jolly Roger would win. However, about fifteen of us fought him, and kept out distance, throwing grenades at him. I and another pirate used the big grenades and did quiet a bit of damage to Jolly Roger. In fact, just as a tip, I advice staying about twenty "pirate feet" away from Jolly Roger so you won't get knocked out. About seven pirates were around Jolly Roger as he went back and forth to attack us. Again, I heard some things about how invasions are harder in quiet districts, but doing this one I found it quiet fun, and lag free! My graphics were turned way up, too! I just loved the experience and got some great shots of Jolly Roger. In fact, one of them is the one I'm sending in for the creepiest screenshot contest. So, why are people obsessed with going to Abassa or one of the full servers to fight an invasion when they can have a much better experience, from what I've seen, in the quieter servers. |

Yes, this also happened to me. It is a lot easier to win on a quiet server even though there are less people to help you.

My mates & I have found it much better to fight on quiet servers. Besides the lack of lag, the enemies are geared toward the number of pirates & levels. You may die a few more times, but in the long run it is much more betters...IMHO And the enemies don't atttack barriers that are not protected...much....

The invasions are considerably nicer on non-ideal servers!
Yes, from what I have seen, the enemies are less of a hassle to defeat, and without all the lag, the invasion itself is a heck of a lot more fun to participate in. Like the Boss Battle, levels and numbers of pirates participating seems to have a direct effect on the invasion as well. |

The difficulty of the invasions are based off of how many people (and possibly the levels) are on the server. Its sorta like the Boss Battle. More players, more damage. Less players, less damage.

The fewer the better. I did one by myself and survived until the 6th round. The I got disconnected, but I only lost one barricade. Lots of running around though.

Our guild goes to a quiet server as well. We have some pirates with lag problems and this makes it much more fun for everyone.
In case you didn't know you can buy Tonics and Ammo during the Invasions. Figured most knew but would rather mention it than not. Captain Whale |

I believe that less pirates = less enemies, but less lag, more barriers, more bonus, and a more epic Jolly Roger fight.

I've been trying to tell everyone that they are easier in the game chat but most don't believe me. Its nice to see people on POF say the same thing as I do.
A few nights ago I got on and found a server with one basic member on it. He tried his best but at level 12 maybe 15 (I think) he couldn't do much against the mob when they rush him but he hung in there to the end. Other than him it was myself with a healer, and we handled everything just fine and would have gotten it alone but after the 5th round a mob of server jumpers came in and took care of the stuff that was getting a little out of hand from the beach side. I got around 2500 rep that time. Earlier there might have been around 20 pirates total on a server I was on and still I ended up with over 2500 rep of coarse with a good healer I didn't go down like just about everyone else did so I was right up to Jolly with out going down. For information on healing a fellow pirate against Jolly, figure out a good distance to avoid Jollys attack. and heal from there. The hard part is keeping that distance. Have your healing and cure maxed. Try to use heal most of the time. and then use cure if needed. (would be needed if healing two pirates at once) Any more than two it will be hard to keep up. |

D turns down the amount of damage that your attacks do during invasions depending on how busy the server is. Quiet servers= normal attack damage, Ideal servers= 10% of normal attack damage.

Doing my third invasion today, and when I finished it and went to a more populated server I got stuck in jail... in fact, I'm waiting for the game to load so I can kick the door down.
I still don't understand why people do them in the full servers. If it won't load for you to get out of jail why go there in the first place? I think I like playing in the ideal and quiet servers. Don't think I'll ever go back to the full servers. |

Some peoples computers handle it differently, such as the loading times. It just comes down to what the person enjoys the most.

Sometimes I'll go to Abassa, other times I will go to another ideal server. There is lag to be sure, but it doesn't bother me. I find the invasions quite exciting with so many other pirates there and we are all fighting together for the same cause. Its very much fun!

Yes it is very fun to do it with a few people. bigkab & I defended an empty server all by ourselves. He took the dock & I took the beach. When there are only a few people they only attack near where you are. They do not pop up from any other barricades like on the busy servers. I find the siege charges to be my best friend. I had 126 kills & got 3300+ rep. Works better with 4 people (2 on each side) that way you can run & get ammo & heal each other if needed.
