Test Release Notes - June 15, 2009

Release Notes - June 15, 2009
  • Avatars that were created and/or shared across accounts prior to the removal of linked accounts are now fully under the control of the owner of their current accounts. This means any avatar you see on your avatar chooser screen is available for playing and deleting, regardless of who created the avatar and any previous settings relating to their shared or locked status.
  • Bad language of any kind is never acceptable in Pirates Online. We have added a feature that will detect if players use bad language and will automatically suspend your account if you continue to attempt using foul language. Learn about Auto-Ban.

Please report any issues you encounter using this feedback form.

I'm confused on how this works, does this mean linked accounts are back, or was this just under manage accounts?

IDK how to explain this, but i'll give an example.
I log onto my main account, switch to my basic account and make a pirate, then log off. After, I can't delete that pirate if I log into my linked account, since it was made on my main account.

They pretty much just sorted that out, and its actually good for some.

Well, that would be useful if we had linked accounts back, but how is that useful now?

Yes I know, stupid question

For those that did so before linked accounts, they couldn't delete certain pirates, its just to help them out.

Unfortunately their "fix" doesnt work. I still cannot delete the 2nd pirate on my test account that was created through a linked account. I guess i'll have to report it.

An autoban is not a bad idea, but it definitely shows that they fail to moderate correctly for themselves...

Actually, them implementing an autoban feature is PART of their moderation, and reflects no failure whatsoever on their part other than the amount of time it took to implement. Its pretty easy to see that they could not manually moderate things 100% given the number of servers and members playing the game. An autoban is a standard feature for alot of online gaming venues, pirates should be no different.

Why not just take chat away from the person for a week, or make it so that nobody can type any profanity. Eh, like it matters, I'm not going to come back even if they do make a better modification over the Auto-ban. I may see you guys on Pirates UK when it comes out, but we shall see.
