How to Quickly Level Up

Ahoy, and welcome to my... 5th guide! Ever wondered how to quickly level up yer pirate? Well ye've come to the right place!

Cutlass: To quickly level up yer cutlass, stay in Port Royal and wander around, looking for Navy soldiers and skeletons. Keep doing this until ye are Cutlass Level 5. Once ye reach Cutlass 5, find the Blacksmith and purchase an Iron Cutlass. Then equip it over yer Rusty Cutlass. Then yer ready to take on enemies up to Level 5-7!

Cannon: When trying to level up yer cannon skills, find a captain that can take you out in a Medium to War class ship. Tell him to sail to Cuba where there are ghost ships. Shoot at the sails of the ghost ship until ye knock them all down. Then fire at the hull and sink it. It gives 110 Cannon Rep points if ye hit the sails first. Once ye are Cannon 2, click on the Skills menu and scroll to cannon. Then hit 'Learn Grape Shot Skill'. Then go to Port Royal, find the cannoneer, and purchase 50 Grape Shots. Keep sinking ghost ships and after every level up see if ye can learn another skill.

Pistol: Bring a high-level (Notoriety 10+) friend and lots of potions with ye to Cuba. Then go towards the flaming lamps. Walk along the deck until it brings ye to the Cuban Swamps. Then take out yer pistol and tell yer high-level friend to take his out also. While standing on the deck, shoot at Fly-traps and Stumps. If yer on the deck, Stumps cannot attack ye and Fly-traps can't do much damage from that range. Just shoot away and yer gonna be a high-level Pistol shooter in no time.

Sailing: Follow the same guides as leveling up for Cannon, but this time all ye do is steer to Cuba and stay on the wheel while yer cannonsman/men shoot at the sails and sink the ghost ship. If they hit the sails then sink the ship, ye get 110 Sailing Rep points every sinking.

Notoriety: To level up in Notoriety quickly, follow all of the other skill guides and do them alot. Each time you get reputation points for any other skill, it automatically gives that many points to your Notoriety stack.

The pistol trick used to work for me but not in the last several weeks it was open - the trees started to attack - even when I was standing on the deck - they would walk under and do the earthquake thing, causing me to lose health points (and then they would chase me out!) Did anybody else have this problem? It happened with all my pirates - oldest and newest... I finally had to go to the lone stump in the jungle of Port Royal behind the Gov's mansion - he was down in the valley and wouldn't come up unless you got too close - was able to level up pretty quick doing that. Wonder what will happen in phase 2?????
