Flourish, Stab & Bladestorm
Just wondering what people's thoughts are about allocating skill points for these skills.
These seem to be the big hit skills for the cutlass. I know there was some discussion about whether Flourish gives you a full set of points for each of the three moves or just one for the entire thing. Bladestorm has the regen issue. What makes for the deadliest blade? |

I like flourish if you are asking opinions. I never noticed which works the best though.

I personally like flourish and Bladestorm mainly bladestorm. Blade storm is like a 7 attack combo deals anywhere from -500 up to -1500 damage depending on lvl and skill points applied and it recharges fairly fast.

If only you could skip the first 3 combos and go straight to florish...

Thanks... not much interest in Thrust (I called it stab) it seems. Although I think it looks cool!

I have a build that utilizes Thrust. It will be with my new third pirate, The Overwhelming Bardel. It goes like this: hack, slash, thrust. With my other pirates I arranged the points into combos, but this one will be just plain old button mashing. Little hit-little hit-devastating hit. Rinse and repeat. Since I have a bunch of open points, the combo hits will be maxed and opted out to be done at the start of a combo. Usually, I'd let them go after a 6-hit combo with flourish for a devastaing 7-hit.
Iunno really. |

I skipped Brawl after my second character, seeing as when it's upgraded, it gets only another second added.

Not to mention the fact it stops the enemy stationery, and is another low damage attack to help with leveling

I personally like utilizing all the cutlass skills in one massive combo-esque... thing.
Flourish is what really inspired my love of the cutlass. It's the first really (in my opinion, at least) "powerful" move you get. I'd say each slice counts as its own, btw, as it increases the combo-count by one per slash. As for thrust and bladestorm... That love grew oh so much when I started to be able to kill high level officers in 30 seconds. I definitely suggest investing in these skills. And brawl ftw. Saved my life sooooo so many times with the 2 second lapse. Sad as it may be =D |

Stab rank 3.
Flourish rank 3. Blade storm rank 4 or 5. I think that's what they should be. Bladestorm is my favorite though and I think i'll get it to rank 5. |
