Picture on Port Royal skin.
Is there any way to make the picture at the top of the Port Royal picture look clearer? Right now it looks kind of fuzzy.

It looks a little better when you view it in the Port Royal skin style.
But I have to agree, using default, it does look kinda fuzzy. |

I believe you are confusing the skins. The dark skin (the default) has the outcase picture on it while the lighter skin (PR skin) has a picture of PR on it.
We made some slight image changes to all the skins. New top image, new PM icons, and the default skin got some new thread icons. With the official POTCO site doing some updates, we thought we'd do the same. Plus, there will be a special surprise in time for the mod hunt next weekend. No, I said the picture for the Port Royal skin looked fuzzy. The picture for the default skin also looks fuzzy and I think something should be done to make both of them look better.

I do understand what you mean, however I think what we have is much better than if it were a crystal clear shot directly from the game. Crystal clear in this case I do not think would be better, it would look at most just like it does in the game. Trees, islands, water do not have 'edges' which are obvious when one plays the game with the best of equipment, and the graphics abilities turned on full blast.. all the bells and whistles. These are limitations of the game engine, and the texturing being used. Those that do graphics design use tricks such as anti aliasing and softening on image to blur these unrealistic 'edges' creating a nicer result overall.
I personally think the image at the top of the default skin does a great job at setting the atmosphere. Good work! Last edited by Dr. Zeppers; 03-26-2009 at 01:46 AM.. Reason: Corrected a word |
