lol, yesterday was a trip. Never saw my pirate shoot up like a rocket when teleporting to another place. I'm not kidding! He really shot up fast. The Tortuga Invasion was already underway when it happened around 16:30 hh. I figured that instead of teleporting directly from Cuba to Tortuga, I'd pay to be a Stowaway. Since when do they spiral upward like that? Whatever happened to him jumping in and hearing those nails being hammered in place?
And as if my wild and crazy adventures weren't enough, twice I escaped death altogether. It was in that Tortuga Invasion where lag and drag did their number on me more than the enemies ever could. Good old Jolly reached the Faithful Bride Tavern. He knocked down and drained so many pirates within range except myself. I was shooting him right there! They were on the floor! I expected the game to finally sync with my comp and find myself like them. Nope. Not a scratch. I kept shooting Jolly and killed him in time before he took a swipe on me. lol
The other time was last night after teleporting to assist a friend on board a ship. We were going after the QAR. Boy, did lag and drag do their wonders. Took quite a while for mine to load. Things settled down after it did like any has experienced this stuff. Game was fine while I shot the QAR. Two others who boarded were having similar issues it turned out. And then, oh no, my screen froze.
Now, honestly, I wished the captain of that ship was more patient and considerate during this trying time. I heard the familiar sounds of a flagship disabled, grappling hooks shot, and the luring of the ship. I could not type anything to let them know. And like I suspected, we boarded. rofl
It sure seemed like an eternity for my end to finally load and I did expect to see my pirate knocked out. Nope. Two waves had just ended and my pirate was just starting to move. omg, here I was thinking earlier how fun it is to do what so many Basics are known to do, run around the ship for their dear life! What joy I thought to myself and here I was needing to do that very thing. They started chasing me. I ditched the thought of attuning both mates and drew my gun instead. One of them froze and the other got knocked down. So I ran to the back [slowly, darn lag and drag still tripping me up], around the pole, to the front [by then, prayers answered, everything ran normally], and got them stuck at the rail. The boss zombie and the other zombie tried to reach me. I shot them. This was the needed break for my frozen friend to revive her guildmate. And wouldn't you know it, like on Kingshead, those two Zombies busted through. rofl
So I made a break for it. Ran to the back of the ship. They followed me, ignoring those two ladies [Yeah, I know, really. She was steering. All I did was shoot.] and I managed to have them go to the very front of the ship and trap them. Once again I succeeded in trapping them. It was hilarious watching them both Zombies trying their darnedest to get me while I was shooting bane and venom shots. The other two ladies used their swords and one of them even went next to the boss. He ignored her! HE wanted to take me out. Eventually, he did strike back at her but then chose to ignore and try even harder to get me.
He died. We won. We docked and called it a night.
