The Punished

(Made most of the characters appearances very vague, to give a more creative interpretation for the readers.)

Chapter 1: Benzulas Brothers.

It was a dark, cold night on Rumrunner's Island. Machazzard, with a group of privateer mates that had been run aground on the deserted island after a mysterious attack, by a mysterious ship late last night, stared on into the wild jungle in front of them. As they all stood motionless on the white beach, the evil aura that seemed to perfume off of the tropical trees, hit them harder than a cannon ball to a mast. Fear seeped off of all eight of them.

The most afraid, it appeared, was Carlos Benzulas. He had just returned from a long, exploratory trip to Isla Perdida, when he was called upon by Machazzard to aid him in a Privateering mission that could leave the entire crew rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Carlos's twin brother, Miguel, was not afraid of anything, quite the opposite of his brother. Carlos was small and weak, while Miguel was big and powerful, seemingly unstoppable. However, Miguel has a very dark past, as well as a criminal background that left most people afraid of him. He traveled to Port Royal from his home on Cuba, and entered the large home of one of Port Royal's most wealthy and popular merchants, Henry Davis. Unaware of his presence, Mrs. Davis continued to nurse her newborn, baby boy on the creeky wooden chair next to the fire, and her oldest daughter began preparing supper, so Miguel initiated his plan. He had no intention of harming the family, but if it was necessary, he would. He started his robbery upstairs, taking all of their valuable belongings, including: jewelry, gold, money, and even fine china. Henry Davis, on his way home from a trade deal with a local firearm salesman, noticed unrecognizable footprints on the path to his back door. As Miguel was exiting, he collided directly into Davis, drew his pistol, and fired one shot into the unsuspecting man's temple. Hearing the gun shot, Mrs. Davis, after handing the baby to her daughter, and having a pirating background herself, armed herself with her trusty Tri-Barrel, and entered cautiously into the archway that lead to her back door. Before she could even react, the sharp sting of a sabre through her gut ended her life, and with two shots, Miguel ended the rampage, killing the daughter and son.

He was soon arrested by the Royal Navy and sentenced for life, until his brother sprung him free. Feeling much guilt, he vowed to try and do the right thing from then on.

They eventually decided to join this crew of unfortunate souls, lead by Machazzard, where they were not completely sure of the mission....
