Freezing and Runtime Errors

Well, as most of you know, I recently got a new laptop, Alienware m14x. While the laptop has amazing performance and doesn't lag AT ALL (still haven't tried Smasho Abassa :P ), I have started getting frequent Freezes and Runtime Errors. I once froze up at the recent Triangle of Terror event (when we were in the catacombs) and it has happened a few times in SVS, same goes for the runtime errors. I can't be exactly sure what triggers it, but I deduced that it seems to happen in what normally would be a heavy lag situation, although that may not be it. I'm not sure why this is, but it has become extremely irritating for me, obviously, because I need to force quit POTCO and lose any progress I'm making, as well as interrupting whatever I'm doing.

I've been told I may need to download the latest driver for my Graphics Card (thanks Doc), but I just want to see if there's any other things that may be causing it. This is a brand new laptop, and a dang good one at that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same problem - my game just freezes and exits itself when I'm in mid-battle or something. This only started to happen when POTCO went launcher-only. The only times I ever crashed while using the browser was when teleporting, someone got knocked out, or when I'm docking. I think it might be something to do with the launcher. But that's just my theory.

It's not just you guys or the launcher. I've had issues with C++ Errors and freezing when someone gets KO'd. And just today, I experienced my first disconnection during landing that isn't caused by my internet.

I completely froze yesterday when fighting Darkheart. There were only 2 other pirates running around in that area at the time. I waited for about 2 minutes and it un-froze. All seemed normal until the issue returned about 30 seconds later. By that time I was knocked down and one of the other pirates revived me. I asked them if they had issues and they described exactly what I experienced. I immediately submitted an in game report with as much detail as possible. Needless to say...3 different pirates...3 different PC'S ....3 different locations .....same server.

Seems to have been happening to people in the last week... I think I figured out the problem, and that is that my new computer has a video card that is probably too new for POTCO. Gonna see if I can have some success downloading a newer driver, but I'm doubting it's gonna work. So it isn't my computer as it seems, probably just POTCO not supporting higher end systems. I say, forget Windows 2000 and make this work with our newer computers. I'm gonna see if changing the Graphics Options will work too. I'm trying Directx8, not sure if it'll work though.
