Unhappy What's with all the invites

Hey Everyone;

I'm fairly new to POTCO, I've only been playing about a week and a half or so and I'm amazed at how many people send invites to join Crews, to get added as friends, and to become a member of a guild without ever say a word to you. Is there some reason for this that I don't know about? It's not that I'm not looking to make firends in the game or anything like that but someone could at least say "Hi" before sending you an invite to a crew or a guild.

Well, you don't really need to know people to go sailing with them. It's no big deal.

Unfortunately, that is an issue I have found both on Pirates and Toontown. It seems that some people believe that a full Friend's List is a sign of popularity. I tend to reject all requests until I have played with the person and am comfortable with him/her as well as their playing style.

On Pirates, you can use the Ignore button to help avoid particularly annoying people; although it would be nice if we could choose to not accept any friends (at this time) similar to the feature on Toontown. On both games, you can easily switch servers to get away from annoying players.

Being on a crew is not an issue, as you can easily leave if you don't like the way the others are playing.

It definately can be annoying, especially if you say no to a crew invite, and they keep asking you over and over lol. I think it's our youngest pirates that do the random friend requests.

Sometimes I get random friend requests or guild requests too.
I may be a "younger" pirate, but I dont send random requests like half of them do.
I have to evaluate the player, like by seeing if they will help me with quests, if they sail the way I do, or if they talk to you in a nice way.
I wish we could turn off requests for friends/crews/guilds, like you can turn off requests for trades and friend requests in Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom, and you can turn off requests for friends in ToonTown as well.

It gets me the person won't even bother to speak to me before inviting. I reject any invites immediately if the person never even bothers to talk to me. Why would I want to be friends with someone who won't even bother to get to know me first?

I hate getting these requests. I even get friend requests in the heat of battle, blocking my screen some. I sent a note into the devs to add a feature to shut off friend and crew and guild requests.

it does get a bit maddening when you land off your ship and get barraged by invites... I tend to ignore them unless I am actually looking for help. My game tends to lag a lot if I have much of a crew... so I like to sail alone a lot. Im already in a guild.. so dont ask me to join another... LOL

I wish you could set your pirate to be able to sail alone... invite only.
What also drives me nuts is ppl on other ships pulling up next to my War Galleon and clickin on me and boarding my ship w/o asking. I kinda think its polite to ask to board another pirates ship in a whisper... maybe Im being picky.. but its a bit crazy.. especially when than lags me to my desktop.
I need to go thru my friends list soon... I have so many ppl on there that I just clicked to get the invite off my screen.. and I never play with.. so its going to get trimmed.. LOL
