New Years Celebration and End of the Year Awards!
Yet another year rolls by before us. Another year of memories, of laughter, of crying, of friendship, of hardship, of battle, and of love. Our guild has grown this year more than it ever has. We are a completely different guild from 2010 and the beginning of 2011. We're stronger, we're closer, we're more of a family. This year, we had the wonderful privilege of earning a subforum on Pirates Online Forums, we celebrated two years, we prospered, we partied, we toasted, and we showed the Caribbean who we were. The Shadow Sorcerors guild.
This was a great year for us. We can all look back on it as probably the best year in our guild's history. I'm try glad that we had such a great year. So, let's end it with a bang! On Saturday January 7th at 8pm EST, we will be having our New Years Celebration! The exact schedule is TBA by Captain Sharktooth, but in addition to celebrating the New Year and looking forward to all the good things to come, we shall also be giving out our... (drum-roll...) End of the Year Awards! Each End of the Year Award is entirely unique to itself. They all are to be given to a single person (or two if there is a tie) in this guild. You all as Shadow Sorcerors are to vote on who you want to have each award. You have until Monday, January 2nd at 9:48 EST time (because I need to have some sort of time deadline, don't I? ) to PM me your votes on either POF or the guild site (choose one or the other). You may only vote for one guildmate for each category, and do not vote for me. "Trading" votes (having one person vote for you and you vote for them to gain votes) is absolutely prohibited, and Trading will result in a warning and possibly demotions. Be completely honest in your voting, and send them to me by the date and time I gave above. Now... onto the awards. Friend to the End: This award goes to a player who displays nothing but kindness to his guildmates and those outside the guild. This player should be, like the award name says, a Friend to the End, always there to pick you up after you fall, to put a hand on your back when you feel as though you can’t go on. Unstoppable: To the player who is completely Unstoppable! This member should be able to overcome any physical obstacle, conquering anything that crosses his or her path. The Unstoppable One should fight until the end, able to crush any foe, sink any ship, and live to tell the tale. The Helping Hand: Always willing to lend a hand to those who need it, The Helping Hand Award goes to the person who never hesitates to help someone in need. Be it healing while they train or in a battle on the seas, The Helping Hand will never say no to helping someone. Their selflessness has no boundaries, and their care is infinite. Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors!: This award is quite simple: It goes to the Shadow Sorceror with the most guild spirit. If they yell “Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors!” as their battle cry, dressing entirely in black and red every day, or leading guild pride events where everyone can see. Do they support the guild in every way possible? Do they show loyalty and pride for this guild in everything they do? And most importantly, how loud can they yell, “HAIL TO THE SHADOW SORCERORS!” Sorceror of the Year: This award is not unlike our Sorceror of the Month awards. This award goes to the person who you think has demonstrated overall greatness in this guild. This person should have displayed all around friendliness, loyalty, and dedication to this guild. This person must have either been in the guild for three months OR be of the veteran rank or higher. There are the awards! Send in those votes! If you don't send them in by December 29th, I may start asking you to send them in! It is of the utmost importance that we get as many votes as possible for a fair turnout. What: New Years Celebration When: Saturday, January 7th at 8PM EST Where: Ratskellar Tavern, Kokoros Server Who: While it is for the Shadow Sorcerors, all pirates are welcome to come! Why: To end the year and start a new one with a blast! |

Bump!
I'd like to see some posts here commenting on this event! Also, better to get your votes in sooner rather than later! Hopefully a schedule of the event will be up soon (it will be posted by Captain Sharktooth). |

I'd just like to remind all of you that the event is coming up this Saturday! Hopefully I'll see you all there! I've gotten a whole lot of the End of the Year Awards votes, but if you haven't sent them in (not too many), then please send them in by Friday! I won't accept any after I log off on Friday evening. Again, you can send them here or on the guild site; I have no preference.

Since our party was interrupted, and I was unable to get through all the awards, I am posting them here.
Friend to the End: Johnny Darkwalker
Johnny has got to be truly one of the most caring pirates. I know that there have been many times where I have felt lost, or sad, or on the brink of giving up a fight, but then Johnny is there for me and he is always able to cheer me up and help me through things. It's rare to not see Johnny optimistic, and in the face of problems, he always is calm (at least a lot calmer than me, that's for sure), and is able to get out of almost all issues. I could not possibly disagree with who this award has gone to. Congratulations Mr. Darkwalker! Unstoppable: Captain Sharktooth I couldn't possibly disagree with this award either. Sharktooth is and probably has always been one of the most physically strong in our guild (but he's got a lot of brains too ). Already having two ships with level four upgrades, being in the overall leaderboards for enemies defeated (number 85 with 153651 kills! Not too shabby, mate!). He's got a full inventory of famed weapons, and is notorious for always announcing that he has found a famed in guild chat. I don't think that the guild would be the same without that. He is definitely one of the strongest guildmates we have. Congratulations! The Helping Hand: Will Seaeagle Will is always a pirate that's ready to drop everything to help out one of his mates. Every time somebody needs assistance, Will is ready to help them, no matter what the need is. Healing? No problem. Questing and needing assistance? Be right there. Want a cannoneer? He's on his way! Will is always glad to help out a fellow guildmate. Congratulations Will! Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors!: Roger Swordshot Roger Swordshot, oh my... there is so much I want to say about him. He has grown up a lot in this guild. Sometimes we talk together and he brings up how he was before he was with us and I realize how much he has changed, and how much he has changed me. I must say that I am very glad he is in this guild right now, because he truly helped to make 2011 such a wonderful year. Onto the award, though. He has really earned this award. The pride that he has for this guild is immense. Whenever the guild goes to do some guild pride, I always make sure he's there, because he is able to display his guild pride better than almost anyone else (and it's not just the clothes). He is also very good at watching over the guild when there are no other officers, or me, online. He always can keep the guild entertained by starting fun events, sparking chat, and making sure that nothing is going wrong. His love for the guild and the pride he shows of it has no limits. I could not have chosen a better person for this award. Congratulations Roger! Sorceror of the Year: DOG GUNMORGAN! Dog has made this year special for me in a whole different way than anyone else. When I first met him in December of 2010, I knew that he would be a great guildmember as soon as he joined, assuming he stayed with us. And he did. A few weeks later, he was promoted to veteran, a lot quicker than other people because of his great behavior and participation in the guild. I saw a lot of greatness in him. About a month or two later he was promoted to officer because of his stupendous actions as veteran. He had done a lot for the guild that even some officers hadn't done only as a veteran, so it was obviously time for officer. Over time, with more of his amazing actions as officer, he rose through the ranks to Senior Officer, and then to Co-Guildmaster. He has done so much for this guild, and has really made this year worth going through for me. I don't think that I would have been able to go on several times without him there at my side. Not only is he an amazing Co-Guildmaster, but he is also one of my closest friends in game. I have gone through so much with him that I consider him a brother. He has contributed so much to this guild in just one year, that I would not want to have anyone else as our Sorceror of the Year. Congratulations Dog! Congratulations to ALL of our mates who have gotten awards! I am very proud to call myself guildmaster of all of you. We have gone through a lot together, toughed out the hardest of situations, and grown closer through all of it. Thank you ALL for making 2011 such a special year for me. Now, let's make 2012 twice as good! |

Congratulations awards winners, its really nice to have different persons that win the trophies every different year and its also nice to see that the votes were so spread out from a category to another. Proves that we guys like each other in the guild and that there is a sweet atmosphere among us.
Anyway congrats to the winners and I wish that this new year will be a great one for the Shadow Sorcerors! |
