Ban Who? Rate this? Game this, Game that
While I enjoy my time here on POF, is there any chance of adding a filter to block all the ever increasing games that have invaded the threads? I would like to enjoy my time here on POF without having to weed through 10+ games of "Rate the Avatar" "Ban this" "This was a great game on TTC" etc. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.
I'm usually very tolerant, I might even be posting in the wrong area, but in short, I would like to be able to filter these things from the core, meat and potatoes if you will of POF. When I want to enjoy a game, I go to the Arcade, Casino, or even play POTCO. Thanks for listening to my rant, sorry to have offended anybody, and feel free to flame if you need to.

The only thing you can do is ignore it Rob. We understand not all the sub-forums are for everyone
There is a tab in the right corner of the "Other" forums, you can use that to minimize the entire forum so it's not on your main POF screen.

Sarah, I think what Rob means is that even in the search for new posts the activities come always on top. And even on the home page the recent posts are always activities.
I think we give POF some life and some cheer. If you were to cancel the Activities section for one week the number of POF members that logs in will go even down compared to the sister sites. In my opinion the Activities in POF is hands down the best way to meet other players here on POF other than the guild sub-forums. Most of the POF activity come form The Activities area. |

Sarah, and the rest of the mods, fully understood the original question.
Yes, if you aren't into the posts in the activities thread, it is very annoying to have those posts be the very first, and sometimes only, thing that shows up when you look for recent activity. The best advice that can be given is to not use the recent activity list, just go to the forums and look at the icons to find which threads have been posted in. Ignore Activities if you can or want to. There is no filter to remove one forum or another from your individual list. And NOWHERE, did any mod say anything about shutting down the activities thread.

I know Master Dreadflint. I was just trying to make a point about about closing the Activities. That's why I said "If you were to".
You Mods know you like us. |

...this brings up me own thots on how the newest blogs used to show on the new posts...but now they dont ....so mebbe thats something to consider with this ....we certainly want the activities...but the tithe of the site is informative pieces...and they have been overshadowed somewhat...
