Fly Traps can be found on all main islands.
In tortuga, theres a swamp to the other side of jail exit, with some, and on Port Royal I've seem them too in one of the jungles or caves.
Trunks are high level and can be shot from a far easy enough, never tried cutlass on them tho.
Giant Crabs are fun shooting, got quite a few pistol points on Crab Island, U can outrun them while walking backwards and shooting, as long as you dont run into anything else. I once had 6 Crabs following me, I managed to defeat them all, had to use a potion tho
