Yea I realized it came across that way after i read it again. I entered that post from work (Shhhhh, don't tell) and didn't really look it over before I posted.

Not exactly, just some kind of notification system to update members that aren't members here or on our site of upcoming events. Something they would see when they logged on and opened their friends list. That way everyone in the guild would know about it. With private messages you would still be hit and miss with the way people come and go in the game.
