I think you get the training when you're level 8. Once I hit level 8, I had to go to Elizabeth and she wanted Will to make a weapon. So now I'm on a quest from Will gathering all the materials he needs to make a daggar or sword. We'll see if I get training once I'm done with the quest

Thanks; although all 3 of my characters are stuck at the moment and I'll never see level 8.
