Post take a phantom with a light sloop

Now, from what I have seen, I am one of the best sailors in all of the carribean, if i do say so myself. unfortunately I have no proof or witnesses, so unless you have seen me work ingame and would like to post, your gonna have to trust me.

I have developed a method, which, if used properly, will allow you to take any ship, even phantoms, revenants and soul reapers, with a light sloop. Why do this? bragging rights... its pretty much that simple, I mean light sloops only carry 3 cargo, so its not good for money... anyway here it is

this is based on the fact that the light sloop is incredibly fast and maneuverable, and is a small target. and that frigates have low armor in the back

steps:
1. Make sure you can get behind the ship. that is the only way it will work. do not try a head on pass, do not even approach a ship unless you can get right behind it right away

2. A full crew will help, but not much unless they have at least fire rounds prefferably at least lighnings. position yourself so that you are directly behind the ship, when it turns, turn in the OPPOSITE direction, broadside it, and turn with it, try to use turn about if possible.

3. repeat untill dead

or (use this method with full crew with fire rounds or better

1. repeat step one in previous method

2. have your crew shoot at the sails. untill the ship has lost all of the sails. this will completely immobilize the ship. they are now the proverbial sitting duck

3. position yourself directly behind the ship, and line up your broadsides to hit it right in the back.

4. keep broadsiding and having your crew shoot the ship, in less than a minute (most likely) the ship should be at the bottem of the sea

note: if you are using the second tactic, be careful of other enemy ships in the area. if one approaches you, you should high tail it out of there, don't risk getting sunk unless your sure your only about one broadside away from sinking it. If you are using the first tactic, you might be able to evade fire from both ships, but it is not advised.

if you master this method, you will be able to call yourself one of the best sailors in all of the carribean, and tell old sea stories about how you and your ragtag band of only 2 other sailors, took a mighty war frigate, with your light sloop.

happy sailing
